Feature:
On/Off switch, cardioid pattern. The package also includes a 20-ft XLR-m to XLR-f cable--something not included with the Shure.
Quality:
I have had a long relationship with Peavey products going back 30 years to my college days when I needed a small economic PA system and did not have a lot of $$. I have found their products to be reliable and dependable. I've found their microphones to be rugged--well up to meeting the demands of constant use.
Value:
This is worth every penny! As I noted above, this is easily the equal of the Shure SM58 at half the price on the street.
Desirability:
This is not a piece of equipment to drool over. Of course, I would be concerned about the person who values appearance over performance when purchasing a microphone. But when one needs a new microphone as a matter of practicality, he or she should give this one serious consideration.
Sound:
The sound quality of this mic easily rivals the Shure SM58 at half the cost. I purchased one of these a year ago for my PA system and purchased a second one this week. Over the next year I plan to purchase two more to replace a pair of five year old PVi microphones.
Ease of Use:
It's a microphone. Anyone who can't figure out how to connect it to the mixer and turn it on needs to reevaluate his/her hobby and/or livelihood.
Support:
I have no opinion--I've never had a problem with their products which required contacting their customer service.
Overall:
Since my PVi mics have lasted over five years, I expect these to last at least as long before I need to replace them.
