"Great Guitar For Price"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
You'll be satisfied if you buy thas guitar.
Sound
sounds good connected to an amp or without one.
Features
I wish it had 4 knobs instead of 3 (two seperate tone knobs). The output jack also gets loose and needs to be tightened once in a while. Other than that everything is alright and the sunburst finish is superb.
Ease of Use
No compaints about the playability.
Quality
This guitar is tough and will not break. Great finish and gold plated hardware.
Value
If i were to buy a guitar for the same price for someone else i would buy this one. This guitar feels better to play than others in it's price range.
Manufacturer Support
5 year warranty. No support needed so far.

"Poor Craftsmanship and terrible value"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars

I am using this as a slide guitar that I leave in open G tuning. It does perform well in this roll now that I have changed pickups and added some different hardware. I would not buy this guitar again if given the chance.
Sound
The sound of the 2008 model is very thin and could stand a better set of humbuckers. I finally changed pickups to improve the sound. The intonation was horrible and the neck bowed, needing adjustment. Still hard to intonate after the neck adjustment.
Features
The only accessory was a wrench to adjust the neck. The guitar has three knobs, two volume and one tone. The neck is fast but the fret job and binding was poor.
Ease of Use
Though the neck is slick and has a very good neck joint, the frets were sharp and the fretboard rough. The poor quality humbuckers make it a challenge to get good tones.
Quality
The guitar arrived with three of the four jack plate screws stripped out of the wood. I had to dowel and glue the holes then redrill the holes to hold the jack in place. The fretboard has tooling marks and dried globs of finish. The binding along the fretboard looked very rough. When changing the humbuckers I found debris in the humbucker cavities, including wood chips, paint chips and black cloth. The hardware is chipped and worn looking and there was a factory dent in the peghead. I can't believe Mr. Peavey wants his name on this guitar.
Value
This guitar is more like a $69.95 special not worth the price I paid for it and yes, I should have sent it back.
Manufacturer Support
I sent an email to Peavey customer service concerning this guitar the same day it arrived (August 2008) and have yet to hear from them (it is now October).
The Wow Factor
It is a goth guitar not the same signature model of 2007 with better construction and hardware.
