"An excellent drumset!"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
good intermediate or begginners set. would recommend any day!
Sound
The sound is not so good off the bat, but i recently purchased evans black hydraoulic heads and evans g1's for the bottom heads. I tuned them up, and man! The drums really sing at low and midranges. I would prefer the pearl sound over any set
Features
I like the shells, lugs, and the finish is beautiful (Red Wine). The only thing I don't like is the mounts. The export iss mounts would have been nice. Overall, very good
Quality
The drumset is very well made, except I had a lug nut rust once, but it was no bid deal. Very good finish and hardware.
Value
Very good value for the complete package
Manufacturer Support
I have never used the support because this set is so reliable!!
The Wow Factor
Its not a DW, common now!!!

"Awesome looks, okay quality, bad sound, but its still a Pearl"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Its a alright beginners set, but you could be a lot more satisfied with a TAMA or a Pearl Export. Im not over it, it plays alot better after you change the heads. I bought Sabian cymbals which was alot better. If you change the snare drum it would be a heck of a lot better of a set.
Sound
I expected better from Pearl, the snare was terrible. After two days of playing the snare head broke.(i wasnt playing hard)After changing the head to a thicker remo emperor, it sounded really bad. I had to go out and purchase some moon gel to dampen it. If your a jazzish drummer this snare sucks if you roll. I also had to change the high tom's skin to a remo pinstripe because it cracked. Otherwise the Bass, and the other toms are not bad.
Features
The snare switch is dumb, when you need to put the snare off, you need to really work at it to have it go down all the way. The cymbals were pretty bad. Nothing special about the set.
Ease of Use
It was pretty easy to use considering i know how to set it up. I had no confusion at all. Quite easy...
Quality
The drums are really sturdy, i tried to break my sticks. no pro held up like a rock. The snare is terrible sound wise, qualities a so so. The toms aren't bad. The bass pedal was pretty crappy as the part where you connect the beater in, loosens often and makes a clicking noise. Cymbal stands are really good i found them to be really sturdy as well. The hi-hat on the other hand wasn't it was pretty bad, when i would play the hi-hat would radomly drop down because the knob would loosen over palying.
Value
Considering it came with cymbals its not bad for a Pearl drumset its really just all in the name "Pearl"
Manufacturer Support
When i broke the snare head, the guy was so rude and mean. He was like " stop bothering my people!!" like really mean....total asshole.
The Wow Factor
Looked really sharp! I bought the black carbon, which is black and kind of green checkers. Looked HOT!!

"VERY NICE BEGINNER KIT."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
this is one excellent kit for the price. dont get the hardware though. the cymbals suck. better off getting sabians or zildjians.
Sound
i think the sound quality is very good for a beginner set, if u are a beginner and looking for a set, pearl forum is the way to go
Features
i think the boom stand is good and stable but the hi hat stand is decent. i would upgrade to a more stirdy hi hat stand. as far as the cymbals go, they absoloutly suck. i would recommend just buying the 5 pieces without the cymbals and hardware and get some good cheap dw stands and get a zildjian or a sabian starter cymbal pack.
Quality
this is one high quality kit for the price. cant go wrong.
The Wow Factor
umm, i already have it and it is one nice kit

"overrated brand..adequate for beginners"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
An adequate kit for the beginner, but i still insist there are better kits even in the entry-level category. Please do check out other brands.
Sound
This kit is acceptable for the beginner, but I feel that even in this price range you can do better.Pearl is a very popular brand and instantly recognizable, but they are also very overrated. The Pearl Forum and Export are perhaps the most overrated kits in their price range.I`ve found better kits made by other manufacturers. Before settling on Pearl,I encourage prospective buyers to check out other brands first. The sound of these drums is good,IF you upgrade the batter heads first.
Features
hardware in this kit is predictably light and simplistic, remember this is an entry-level kit. That means you get one cymbal stand not two and the throne is going to be rather flimsy.Better thrones may be purchased separately.Shells are philipine mahogany which are okay, but I favor basswood or poplar.Bearing edges on this kit are only average. The old pearl twin-tube tom holder is difficult to use campared to other brands ball & socket tom holders.
Quality
quality of this kit is fair to good,i think other brands including mapex are better.Shell warranty is 3 years and covers roundness and ply separation.
Value
I would say pearls competitors offer better kits in this price range.Several of them offer better shells, additional hardware and better overall build quality.
Manufacturer Support
I have not dealt with pearl directly.
The Wow Factor
"sex appeal" is average.finish is wrap not lacquer. The Pearl logo on the bass head isnt enough to win me over, personally.
