I had purchased a similar looking truss made by a company I've always been happy with. I could assemble the truss by myself and even with two people it was very complicated. this truss was non crank and with 2 men trying to raise it the truss collapsed. Then I was told about zZounds and my first search was truss. I was skeptical because of how similar the Odyssey Crank-Up Truss looked to the now junk $200 truss I had. The crank up system and payment plan was enough for me to give another truss a try. As soon as i opened the box I could see the quality of the Odyssey Crank-Up Truss. I had the truss assembled and cranked to it;s maximum height in 15 minutes by myself. I had to operate the cranks in intervals walking back and forth but I could safely and easily assemble and operate the Odyssey Crank-Up Truss without help. Fully loaded with four moving head spot/gobos, two mini kintas, 2 moving head snake lights, mirrored ball, 2 pin spots, 4 slim par 56, and two fog machines. the Odyssey was strong and sturdy. At the lowest setting the Odyssey is the perfect height for hanging and wiring your lighting. the crank system is high quality and very easy to operate. The cranks turn just as easy with a full load as they do with the truss empty. The safety pin that keeps the foot pattern spread on the stand is amazing. that feature would've prevented my previous truss from failing. The Odyssey Crank-up Truss is a affordable High Quality Product that can be easily moved, assembled, and cranked by one person. My only improvement would be to add a third piece of truss. The truss itself is 10 feet long but with the stands foot pattern the area between them is 5 feet. I do a lot of weddings and my vision was to use the truss during the bridal party introductions by having the couples walk under the truss when announced. but the distance between the stands just isn't wide enough. The additional truss section would make the distance around 9 feet. The Odyssey Truss is so sturdy ad made with quality materials i knew it could easily support a 15 foot 3 piece truss,

I truly love and appreciate this system. It makes my setup look so much more professional. Being able to hoist my lighting rig up to almost 10 feet get everything out of the way and helps me cover the room better. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Product came yesterday. The printed directions for assembly don't really explain how to assemble the unit properly. Go to the Odyssey website a view the videos to get the correct method. Overall I am pleased with the stand and believe it will serve it's purpose (Namely to save my back).

Had a problem as soon as I took it out of the box. The knob that tightens the leg was broken but odyssey replaced it very fast. A little expensive but overall. I'm satisfied

I had two different units sent, both arrived DOA. The crank system is set up to fail. Fortunately, zZounds has a really good return policy.
