Sound: I used the MIXDECK for the first time in public and was disappointed with the overall sound. I adjusted the EQ all night but the sound was tinny and not full. I will play with the unit at home and try to work out the kinks. The CD's sound was better than the mp3's and the iPod, which is to be expected. Feature: The MIXDECK is an all-in-one design for DJ's. The ability to have access to CD's, MP3's, an iPod and USB inputs that includes a computer USB input is the main reason I purchased this unit. It did take some button pushing and twisting to access the music on the USB sticks. Once you have changed the source of a deck using the Parameter knob and the the source button you can use the Track knob to play MP3's off a memory stick. Push the Track knob to deselect the song that is currently playing and twist to go to another song in that folder, pushing the knob will play the new song immediately. Use the Back button to change to the folder mode after deselecting the current song (the Time Display will go blank and either File or Folder will blink). Ease of Use: The Mixing board is straight forward and easy to use. There is no EQ for the iPod input. There is only one Microphone input, so I've added a rackmount mixer for my wireless mics. (Behringer 882) The PC inputs worked fine. I use Virtual DJ and it was great to have access to 2 channels of USB input. I have played with Tracktor at home but using this unit as a controller does not fit my style of DJ'ing. Once the unit is set to control the computer you lose access to the CD's and USB sticks and it takes a few seconds to change. Some DJ's may like Traktor but I prefer Virtual DJ. Quality: Well made plastic unit that really does need the optional road case for protection. Knobs and buttons are precise and responsive. The unit worked as advertised. Only time will tell if the MIXDECK is reliable, but Numark does have a good reputation for quality. Value: I purchased the MIXDECK to try to downsize my DJ setup. It worked the way it was supposed to work and I feel it was worth the money. Two CD/MP3 decks, Two USB inuts for memory sticks and a PC/Controller input as well as the iPod input allow access to just about any music file a DJ will need. No all-in-one unit will satisfy everyone's need but for my purposes (Function DJ'ing) it fulfills my needs. Manufacturer Support: I have never had a problem with a Numark product. The Wow Factor: This unit is cool looking! Lights on the CD controllers give some visual clues as to what is going on. Very impressive to the public. Isn't that the image DJ's try to project? Overall: At my age it won't have to last all that long. I feel the need to upgrade my equipment every few years. This unit should last 2-3 years and that would be fine. It might outlast me! The lack of multiple microphone inputs is the only real disappointment.

Sound: Sound quality is good as long as you keep the volume below "10". You will definitely need to let the amps do the work. As long as you do that, the sound quality is good. This is nothing new to Numark users, almost all of their products suffer at top volumes. I currently use the RCA "booth" outputs for subs and the "mains" for the full range speakers. It's working well for me and allows separate control of the different speaker types. Feature: Great features! Allows quick change from one media to another. Larger jump drives in the top USB ports take a few minutes to read, but if you plan accordingly, there shouldn't be any issues. I am using this with Numark "Cue" and the integration only took a few minutes. The flexibility of the Mixdeck is the main reason I bought it and so far, I am pleased with the performance. The weight of this unit is a big plus for me! Super light, even in a case. Ease of Use: Very easy to use. Getting used to the unit took about 20-30 minutes. All of the functions are easy to navigate and use. LCD is easy to read. The platters have good feel and are as responsive as expected. Quality: Quality could be better with a more solid (i.e. metal) chasis, but I think that this will last quite well with a case around it. I would not go without a case... EVER! No matter how tough the product, without a case you are pushing your luck. Value: Great value. Excellent for beginners and intermediate DJ's. I have 25 years experience and am using it for wedding gigs because of the flexibility. As a professional, I would use this product for anything except the very big events where more scratching and mixing are needed. Manufacturer Support: The Numark website is kept up to date pretty well. I have never had to call in for support because my answers have aways been addressed on the website. The Wow Factor: Great visual appeal. Professional appearance with easy to see LCD screen. Back-lit display and platters add a nice visual clue as to what is going on and is a nice display to anyone looking over your shoulder. Overall: As much as I work with my equipment, I expect a few years of service from this piece of equipment. Normal wear and tear limits most products to about 2 years with me. This will be my "go-to" unit for quite a while and I will be saving the Pioneers for the higher-end gigs that they were designed for.

Sound: The sounds the the decks give off could be a little better but for the price that you are paying, it is better than average. It is compatible with every music style. Overall: Most DJ's who have been in the game for quite some time, are reluctant to use a numark product and i was no exception. However, I did puchase the mixdeck after reading a review on another website and i'm glad i did. Ask yourself this question: Do i want to be a turntablist or a DJ? If you're a person who likes to scratch very often and do various tricks in your routine, then this product is not for you. As for me, I've been there and done that. However, if you are seeking to improve your skills, turn in a quality performace and really move the crowd by playing hit after hit, then my friend you need to purchase this product. I've been DJing since 2004 and was a mobile DJ who has recently transtioned to being a Club DJ. I've played at the LUX (DE) and Brownies 23 East (PA) and am not afraid to use this product in large venues. I know Pioneer-ist will give you strange looks and try to convert you but numark has been producing quality products as of late and at afforable prices.

Sound: Each deck has low, mid, and treb control with a little notch on the +0 so it's easy to change all your levels back to normal. Feature: Built in FX. Iphone support isn't the best, yes it plays from Iphone but cannot load to decks, it's a seperate track with no EQ, and the recording is just with voice memos. But I used USB most of the time anyway. Included software was VDJ LE instead of Traktor LE, which doesn't work with my laptop (Dell XPS M1330) this is the only laptop specific problem I found on the VDJ site. Ease of Use: Very easy to learn and use. Loading from USB was all I did and it was easy to manage folders and files. Quality: Well made in every aspect, jog wheels felt very nice to touch. Value: Unknown Manufacturer Support: N/A The Wow Factor: It looks sweet, definitely has a nice cool factor. Overall: I enjoyed this product thouroughly and the integration with USB,CD,Computer, and half integration with Iphone (as described above) made it easy to get songs loaded to the decks quickly and in many formats.

Sound: The sound is very clear from this unit....you will be happy! I am a DJ and I perform 4 days out of a week, and some weekends. As soon as I got it I put my investment to work. So far it has been great, and it looks very professional. I only had it for a week so far, so I hope it can last. It is a MUST to get a case. I took it out one day with out a case, and I almost damage the unit. I could not find the case anywhere. I went to guitar center and found that the B2 case fits the Numark Mixdeck. The B2 is built similar to the mixdeck. The case was $80 cheaper then the case that it actualy for the mixdeck. The both are made the same. Feature: The scratching feature is really good. It was very tight! I was impressed. Ease of Use: I used it right out the box....I will take about 2 days to get used to all the buttons. You can not used the effects with Serato....I know. It comes with the lite version of tractor...you can use that, but I still use Serato SL3. Quality: It is good quality, but it is plastic....so buy the case. Value: It is new...so I understand. I don't feel like I was ripped off. Manufacturer Support: Never had to use them.... The Wow Factor: Everyone loves it....it looks good! Overall: Like anything else you can out grow it...I have been djing for about 10 months now...It is apart of my growth. I know i will have to step it up around 3-4 years from now.

Overall: Alot of flexibility with diff media formats such as CD's, PC, MAC, USB FLash and Hard Drive Support, no PC required. Eq's, Faders, and Gains arn't midi mappable, which is great for me, since I personally prefer Hardware Control over Software for Eq's and Gains. NO Latency when using CD's and USB Flash/Hard Drive Media. The usual small latency when using as a MIDI controller. You can do some scratching with it. Also has a Curve adjustment switch would prefer the traditional Curve Adjustment knob, but thats no deal breaker for me. Crossfader is desent. It's a smooth Fade. I haven't gotten any trouble as of now. The Mixer Section is Metal, The Rest of the Body including the 2 decks are made with High Quality Hard Plastic. Numark is known for Quality and reliability. Buttons feel solid and feels like it's built to last! I highly reccommed the Flight Case for it especially for mobile DJ's.. I chose the Original Mixdeck over the Express because there's a few things missing on the express, It would be small stuff for some people, but me personally I would use such as seperate Booth Out and VOlume, Bleep control, and use the Ipod Dock to record your mixxes. The one thing that's missing for me is a 2nd Mic input which the Express version has. I'm not much of an MC< but would like the option especially when DOing Religious Gigs.. Thank You Numark and Thank You ZZsounds for Awesome Serivce and flexible Payment options!!!!

Sound: Just like the first reviewer said, the sound is poor, I even tried running the sound thru a BBE processor with poor results. I am not sure if I just have a bad unit or if their is a internal problem that Numark needs to address.If this mixer is the first you own and have noting to compare it to, you may think the sound is great, but my comparison to a cheap American Audio DJ Mixer, the American Audio is far superior to the Mixdeck no question. Feature: The Mixdeck has a lot of features for the buck, I never had a chance to use them all. The CD players work great very fast loading and cueing, excellent platters for mixing and scratching. Ease of Use: CD Players are very easy to use, excellent layout on both CD players and mixer, but I could not EQ the sound no matter what I did. Quality: I would give it a 10 if the sound quality was good but it's not... Value: If the sound quality was good I would rate it a 10 Manufacturer Support: Customer service was good and tried to help me with the sound problem with no luck, I think the sound problem I am having is beyond customer service and needs to be addressed by Numarks technical design dept The Wow Factor: Nice looking set up better than the B-52 Prodigy and most others. Sound: The sound is awesome! The quality of the sound is crystal clear and responds perfectly to what I play. Lets face it, dont expect to put a nice unit like this with cheap speakers and amp. I have a high dollar system,kicking 4000 watts and the Numark matches it perfect. It is simple to use but I encourage to really get use to it....I would definitely recommend this! Feature: The ability plug my laptop directly into the deck without having to purchase anything extra. Ease of Use: Modifying the sounds of this until is super easy. Very simple to use. Overall: I can't understand why there are high reviews on this site for this product. If you look at every other review place, a lot of people are reviewing negatively for the Numark Mixdeck (all models) as there is a major flaw that makes the unit pretty much useless and numark support has no idea how to fix. The MIDI / usb function to many laptops has a major bug that is unfixable (except to get another non-numark system) that causes the controller to freeze or skip horrendously sounding like a skipped CD. 8/10 it just completely freezes and i've had this happen to me personally dozens of times and 4 times when i had a packed dance floor. (i'm a professional dj) this is completely unacceptable and the numark mixdeck has caused me thousands and damaged my reputation as a DJ because it is unreliable. It can freeze out of no where, play good for 2-3 hours and then all of a sudden, skipping or freezing and i'm not even doing anything fancy on it. Now i'm an IT specialist by day too, so i've updated all the firmware, bios, updates galore on everything and tried to fix the problem with 4 different newer laptops. Still freezes. Common troubleshooting sense tells me it is the numark mixdeck itself that is causing the problem. I've even The bugs in the MIDI function is the Achilles heel for the numark mixdecks unfortunately. So sad, because the versatility and the specs on paper made it look so promising. Bottom line though, the MIDI function is horrendous causing the whole unit to be UN-reliable when playing from a computer. don't buy.
