"Heavy bass and soft in the treble makes it good old worn LPs"

I was drawn in by the low price as a secondary cartridge. When you figure in the cost of a headshell, that brings down the budget left for the cartridge alone. I use this in 2 turntables I own, an Audio Technica AT-LP1240 and a vintage Realistic LAB-500 which originally came with an integrated Shure cartridge headshell that was high-end audiophile back in the day. For my purpose of playing those worn older records, this cartridge works fine. Bass is fat, treble is laid back but the midrange isn't anything special and that is where I downgrade it a bit. Tracking is fine for a conical tip, which is to say the treble won't sparkle and it doesn't here. Overall fine for what it is at the price is cost.

I was not sure what to expect, when i ordered this phono cart, but the price drew me in, so when i got it, and instaled it, i was surprisingly pleased. Very nice looking on my turntable, the Audiotecnica at lp120. Works beautifuly, and sounds great! Such a rich and powerfull sound. Its a bit heavy,so make sure your turntable has a tone arm weight adjustment.. Apply about 2.3 grams. Also i cant belive they named it the scratch pervert! Lol!

Don't waste your time!! I'm a Serato DVS user (Serato DJ) and these needles do a HORRIBLE job of providing a clean signal to Serato! I did an A/B test using the Numarks and an old pair of Audio Technica needles I had laying around and the Audio Technica's not only produced a cleaner signal when measured using the Serato "estimate" function, but sound quality increased 3 fold using the Audio Technica needles. So do yourself a favor and skip these! I'll be purchasing some Shure needles in the very near future.

Worthless and unless. I’m new to turntables. I bought this cartridge, along with an audio technical lp 120, Serato Control Vinyl and the serato dvs expansion . I tried for hours to get my turntable system to work . When I finally got it working , the only sound I heard was loud distortion . No music . Eventually I switched the cartridge with the basic stock cartridge that came with my turntable and boom, I get sound! I don’t know if the cartridge is damaged or if its bad quality. All I know is that it didn’t work. This cartidge couldn’t even produce any sound and to make it worse , zZounds won’t even give me a refund. I will NEVER order from zZounds again . This product is junk . I read the good reviews hoping that they would overshadow the bad reviews, but unfortunately they didn’t. I will replace this cartridge with the shure brand from another website .
