"get it while it's hot."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
the only thing i wish this had was the drumpads they put in the new, smaller, SL Compact. other than that, amazing.
Sound
not applicable
Features
automap. it's amazing. period.
Ease of Use
it is somewhat confusing to set up at first, but definitely worth the time to sit down and read the manual.
Quality
very sturdy little piece of kit.
Value
a little on the expensive side, but if you want a fully fledged controller with automap, this is the way to go. for those with a tighter budget, check the SL Compact.
Manufacturer Support
heard great things about their support, but no experience first-hand.
The Wow Factor
very sexy.

"A great controller for producers looking for quality and controls"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Features
This is by far the most versatile midi controller out there.
Ease of Use
I had some serious frustrations with it in the beginning, mainly because I installed the new automap 2.0 from the get go and it's a little strange getting it all setup. But once I did it's been a snap.
Quality
Amazing feel to the keys, semi weighted. All sliders and knobs feel great. Pads are a bit to be desired, but function great and have a great response.
Value
This is a good value. Expensive, but worth it.
Manufacturer Support
Not the best support.

"Does automap work completely? Not quite..."

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars

Very, very disappointed. I was really looking foward to it working flawlessly.
Sound
The keys are nice, too bad thats the best thing about it.
Features
Automap works for Cubase great. For Ableton and Reason however i have yet to get it to work, thats why im sending it back. Ableton is the ultimate live sound software and to have it not even respond through basic midi is unacceptable.
Ease of Use
Nothing but problems, driver conflicts and no response at times. I've been building computers for a long time and i know my way around peripherals. This thing refuses to work....
Quality
If the drivers were much, much better it would be great. Its alot more solid than m-audio and alesis stuff, too bad the insides are rotten. Perhaps you will have more luck than me.
Value
Again, if it worked like advertised it would be great. For me it has not, so back it goes.
Manufacturer Support
I updated the drivers, and it made everything worse. I didn't try contacting novation. I have no time for tea.
The Wow Factor
Its advertised feature set is hot. Automap has great potential. Execution is very flawed.
