Feature:
Im pretty much new to keyboards so I cant really speak on any least amount of features. however, having no effects allows you to focus on programming and tweaking.

Quality:
Oh my goodness. Just looking at this keyboard makes you wanna make love to it. Theres something about the sexy red color. Only main concern I have with this keyboard is that darn Wooden Pitch stick. I wouldnt allow other people handling that pitch stick. It just may break with the right amount of force.

Value:
I believe the price of this item is pretty high. In fact, your best bet would be to purchase to thru an online auction. Good luck trying to find one for the price i did: $1-1-7-5 ;-)

Desirability:
LIke i said, its so sexxy and that red makes you wanna do the nasty with it. The overall look and ease of use, gives u inspiration to make music.

Sound:
SOUnd quality? woooow... To my ear its in a league of its own. THe sound is very xpressive and you will have fun just tweaking the knobs. The keyboard has no effects. I believe this is excellent because it forces you to program, plus the sounds dont need any extra effects added to it. I am currently using a SE-1, Pk-6 and and an MV-8000 with my NORD. I will be upgrading to a minimoog voyager. Only reason I rated the sounds a 9 is because I am never satisfied with the sounds of any keyboard. Well perhaps the prophet 5, but its so old, I wouldnt dare purchase it.

Support:
I put 9 because ive never had to deal with them thus far. However, I emailed them asking would there be future products and never got a reply of any kind.

Overall:
I expect to be very satisfied with this product for years to come. If it was stolen, I would be pretty mad because I purchased this keyboard at a price cheaper than the Rack version. However, if your on the market for a new keyboard, I would try to be patient and wait until JAN 20 2005. Thats when the NAMM show starts. Im pretty sure theres going to be a new clavia board released. Probably a Nord 4 or nord 3xl.

I BOUGHT mine a year ago, waited, and have had it for three months. Nothing out there comes close to its' sounds and ease of programibility. There is so much room to store your own presets and performances. It is simple to use and midi flexable. My only need is a sequencer and then a fire sale of my three other synths.

Feature:
I wish it included a midi cable, but those are like 20 bucks... And no onboard 'effects';fortunately, they aren't needed.

Quality:
The thing is built like a tank. The red is beautiful. It will definitely lasy for some time. I like to stare at its beauty.

Value:
It's a tad expensive-i paid 1800- It needs more presets. I am now poor...

Desirability:
Sexy. Pure sexiness. I Love it. Just Beautiful -hugs synth-

Sound:
Ok where do i start? This things rocks w/ its excellent sound? The sound quality is superb. There are over 1,000 persets just waiting to be used and abused.Sometimes i just sit down and create excotic and freaky sounds. I absolutely love it. When i think about the money i spent, i sit down and create havoc. The sounds are fat and chunky w/ the unison mode. It can create most of the new wave sounds i dream about! Make sure you have good amp(s)or speakers (KC150+)

Overall:
I will be satisfied for a while. If it were stolen, i'd kill the thief and take his money ;) I bought this baby for its reputation. Clavia kicks ass.

Whatever, so you run what 50 timbres at a time, I bet that sounds about as good as 20 songs playing unison. Besides if you own every synth on the market why would you need more than 4 timbres going at the same time anyway. Have you ever heard of MIDI. With MIDI you can sync multiple instruments and play them in unison, you should look into it. All of your synths should have a 2-4 5-pin plugs on the back. They will be labeled in, out, and thru. MIDI is probably the most simple programming language, but obviously you don't read your manuals. You might not get it. Anyway, why do you need every synth on the market? Do you think your music will s@@k if you don't have every new toy that comes out. I bet a retard could make a halfway decent song if you gave it a bunch of fancy synths.

It was a long wait, but definitely worth it. It has no built in effects, but it doesn't really sound like it needs it. The sound is really analog...in a lot of ways it sounds like my old Prophet-5, but much cleaner and thicker. This thing is really well thought out feature-wise, and construction is as solid as a Volvo...Thanks, Clavia

This is not only a va synth, it is a hybridsynth and the sound are both fat and sweet if you programm it to be. It can also be hard and cold like Yamaha DX-7 or both at the same time!!!! It is the most flexible synth on the market.

Great sounds, from analog to digital and techno...extremely easy to program and tweak, with the best display and control panel on the face of the earth...great keyboard feel, with pressure and aftertouch...built like a rock, yet small and light as a feather. There are no digital effects, yet it doesn't need them...very clever programming. Superb afterpurchase updates for free (3 OS improvements so far) and free factory patches.

It just looks cooler than the others. That Anaconda or whatever Alesis made is plain ugly. I mean it looks like a badly mangled hubcap. How can THAT be inspiring? But the Nord 3 is so smooth and red. It sounds red. If red could be heard, you would spell it Nord 3. My only problem with buying it is that they'll probably be making a Nord 4 soon with an expression strip. But I hope it's red, or at least illuminated like the little complementary green LEDs that indicate the knobs' positions and which also look so cool. And that wooden pitch knob thing is also very nice. In all, it's a much better looking synth than any of them, and it is way cooler to look cool on stage than not. It also sounds redder than the others. Red as in Hot, Hotdog, sunburned red, like an apple, a good apple, like a Mac that can sequence the 4 Nord tracks as many freakin' times as you want.
