Feature:
Low Cut off, three directional characteristics: omni, cardioid, figure-8 and 10dB attenuation are the plus. Get a Shock mount with it, it would be useful.

Quality:
Considering quality, When you see the name "Neumann" on a microphone then stop worrying about the quality. It is the best.

Value:
Well, it is expensive, but once you have it.....you'll never turn back to any Microphone again.

Desirability:
Just looking at the mic. sitting majestically on a shock mount will make any singer get the real feel.

Sound:
What could go wrong when you use the legendary U-87....???? Absolute perfect quality sound.

Support:
I haven't had any repairs or questions, so I don't know about the tech support.

Overall:
I would never replace it till Neumann makes digital microphones affordable :>
