Just what I was looking for. I really don't like tripod stands in the studio. They're ok for the stage. But if you have home portastudio like I to do, I like to do all of my vocals standing up and this is also a great stand to place condenser microphones on. Tripod stands for me in a small studio they are just one more thing to trip over. This mike stand is built like an army tank and when you set it where you want it, it just is not going anywhere. Out of the box it was a snap to assemble and ready to use. I bought this strictly for my home portastudio. Buy it you'll like it.

I use this with my Yamaha microphone optimizer for my home theater setup. The only other item needed was a screw adapter 1\4 inch to secure the mike. I was able to get a precise position to place the mike in . I must say it worked perfectly and I was very pleased with the results.

"A Stand For All Reasons"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Once assembled, the telescopic business tube w/clutch is the ONLY moving-part. How can ya' go wrong ??? I have sanded & repainted the round base on some of these type. Flat black spray-paint. Looks Great !
Features
Tripod mike/boom stands are very stable, but have a LARGE FOOTPRINT on-stage. This FACT sometimes gets in the way of pedalboards & monitors. Also the Tripod-stand itself is more bulky, requiring more room in the gear case. I have used the round-base type for 50+ years of performing as a guitarist/singer. I love em' !!!
Ease of Use
It's TRUE that one must assemble/disassemble the round base type. At times the threads don't want to engage ... or Dis-engage !!! Those are the drawbacks. Some folks like RED Tennis Shoes TOO !!!
Quality
Seems to have it ALL goin' on !!!
Manufacturer Support
Never dealt with em'.

"Not a classy look with labels and logos plastered on it"

Great service - I received my mic stand in 3 days. It was easy to assemble and is working fine. My only issue is that it took 15 minutes to remove the white bar code label from the center of the black stand. I also have never seen a black mic stand that came with a large red and white logo running down the center. I do not want to damage it trying to remove the label so I have set it up so the label does not show toward the audience. Not the classiest move by the maker.

I have purchased 4 of these stands over the years and just recently received one as a gift.Everyone of them has failed the same way. They bend and crack at the threads that insert into the base. That leaves you with a pole with no threads and a base that has a threaded ring stuck inside. The last one did not last a week.
