Sound:
sounds great.I needed something for small touring gigs.I checked out some other stuuf such as the jet city----I tried very hard to like that amp.Reviews were great and a lot of my compatriots give it great reviews. Ultimately it gets to what you like as for as sound. The Jet City has no bass--none--to my ear. I cranked it up with no treble,no mid and bass at full and still zero.So I went with what I know and I am glad I did.
Feature:
I got what I paid for
Ease of Use:
plug it in and it works
Quality:
made like a tank
Value:
fair price.
Manufacturer Support:
never had to call---so I will give a default of 9 due to reputation
The Wow Factor:
I don't know--I guess the name Marshall is not going to scare anyone away.
Overall:
I will probably just stick with Marshall. I am not rich and need something that works and sounds good. There is a reason Marshall is so common. As for "boutique"; I am not impressed--so far.

Sound:
The amp sounds like a typical solid state ... cold. It is loud but the speakers doesn't make it any better. My cousin owns one and it sound great for heavy metal and beyond, anything else would lack character that is a fact. I own a CRATE VFX5112 and the effects are almost the same as this amp but I use pedals and you can tell the difference from a tube amp to this Marshall Amp. This Marshall takes pedals pretty good too. When my cousin record a song through it, it sounded horrible comparing to what he recorded using with my Crate and the same Shure SM57 Mic. Playing Live with it sure is loud but that doesn't do any justice to the audience. A tip to improve it would make it like a VOX Valve Reactor models which would be having a tube in the preamp, and that alone would improve the sound from its dead state. I wouldn't recommend this amp for blues or classic rock. If you plan to play metal and hard rock and modulate your sound a lot this amp is a way to go but there are better.
Feature:
Footswitch came with it, you save on pedals if you like the effects on this but the reverb and effects are dull. Should have a seperate channel for clean and dirty with 1 sets of EQs.
Ease of Use:
You can get almost any sound but it won't sound like you want to. Easy to set up. Its just plug and play.
Quality:
Pretty good quality he has owned it for 5 years and it is still good. No blown speakers, scratchy pots for a Made in Nam Marshall Amp.
Value:
He paid about $680.00 5 years ago its like $90 cheaper now. The amp has the same features but if you are comfortable logging around 4x12 Cab by all means this is the way to go but for sound quality and same price go for Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for small gigs and any where usually you can Mic it and wont need to annoy the neighbors if you practice.
Manufacturer Support:
He or I never had to call them, when I owned a Marshall
The Wow Factor:
Its a Marshall, if you are a 18 year old with saved up Christmas, Birthday and High School graduation money, with a Jackson Randy Rhoads guitar, and just now how to power chord, guillotine on one string, play fast with inconsistent measures and time signature, you are bound to fall in love with this amp. My cousin did 5 years.
Overall:
It's a Marshall .. OoOoOo ... Dont fall for the name brand you can get a better amp for the same price. Wattage doesn't equal good music.
