8 out of 10Feature:
I like the simplicity of it. Clean, distortion, and basic effects. I really like the contour feature of this amp as well. It does come with a foot switch.
Quality:
The product is definately good quality that I have come to expect from marshall. It is a very durable amp. If you play in a lot of gigs, and are having to carry your amp everywhere, I highly recomend this amp. It has enough power to be heard, it is not abnoxiously heavy, and also for the fact that it is durable.
Value:
I was definately satisfied with the price. It is worth every penny of the price. Like I mentioned previously, it beats any other amp in its same price range.
Desirability:
I was first initially attracted to the amp because of its simplicity. I am not a big fan of guitar amps that have hundreds of features. Basically, plug and play.
Sound:
It sounds a little harsh, and it also lacks clairity on higher volumes.. Clean channel is very good.
Ease of Use:
The sound is good. You get what you pay for. There are definately amps out there that are going to sound better, but you will end up paying an arm and a leg for it. For the price you pay, the amp is much better than than similar amps in its price range. The amp is definately easy to use.
Support:
I have not had to contact them because this amp just does not want to break. If I had to, I am sure that they would be more than helpfull. I have had to deal with them in the past, and they were very professional and helpfull.
Overall:
I am currently satified with the product. For what i do it is perfect. If you carry your amp everywhere and play in gigs that require you to pump out a lot a volume, this is the amp for you. For what you pay for it, the sound is very good. It is worth every penny you pay for it. If the product was stolen, I would be very angry and I would have to replace it. The factory warranty will do that for me though.

It comes with a footswitch wich is easy to use (of course plug it in then switch). All the knobs are easy to turn. And i use every one of the knobs theres not one knob that i wish wasnt there.
Quality:
Its a brick, its unbreakable.
Value:
if this were ever stolen i would work work work to get it back
Desirability:
I have it, comon.
Sound:
I love the sound of this amp! i get all the sound i look for. I use a Ibanez RG350EX guitar with 3 pedals, Ibanez Weeping Demon, Digitech RP350, and DIgitech Whammy. I gewt the best sound from all 3 with these. My guitar was basically made for this amp (in my opionion). I play Metal and Rock.
Ease of Use:
Turn the knobs plug ur guitar in and play.
Support:
Dont know....but i bet theyere great
Overall:
I espect to use this for a very long time, (until i get a half or full stack).

8 out of 10Feature:
i have to say i was not impressed with the effects knob. curiously, it takes a long time for the effects to warm up. i think it would be a lot better if it had a push-button effects system, like a JCM 2000 combo. The FDD works very well. i always leave it on, so when i take it off, i can definitely hear the decrease in the overall tone and sound quality. It still sounds good without FDD but i strongly suggest leaving it on. other than that the effects could be better.
Quality:
It's a Marshall. These things are built like tanks. The only thing i notice is that when i first had it, both speakers came on at the same time. now there is a two second pause before the right speaker comes on fully. Don't worry though, this doesnt affect the amp's sound and playability at all. The tolex isnt that impressive either. It might be plastic. It's tougher, but i like the original tolex better.
Value:
Marshalls are great. Its worth the price in my opinion
Desirability:
Marshalls could possibly be the most sexiest looking amps in the world. in fact, it's the look of a wall of Marshall extension cabs that attracted me to this company in the first place.
Sound:
The sound is incredible for a non-valve amp combo. This amp makes my 600 dollar guitar sound amazingly full. The style i play in requires all downstrokes which helps get a "wall of sound" feel. I used to play a Peavey Valve King combo. This non-valve marshall combo makes that amp sound like a joke. Great Marshall tone. i think the technological advances are unbelievable. Although it's not a valve marshall, it most certainly comes close
Ease of Use:
its a MG. They are in my opinion the easiest amps made by Marshall when it comes to dialing in a sound. I have played many Marshalls, and many of them have little bells and whistles ive never heard of before. I couldnt even begin to understand all the knobs and buttons on the AVT series amps! The two channels are simple enough if you have had experience with any other amps.
Support:
i haven't ever needed to call support for anything, but if i did I would not expect any problems with service
Overall:
hopefully this amp lasts me for a long time. i definitely plan to buy a vintage JMP 100 marshall at some time, but for right now, this MG250 and my DSL half stack are fine.

Value:

Desirability:
i saw it at a local shop plugged in a IBANEZ and played just 10 min or so,,,, i decided i want it, i am taking it now
Sound:
all i can say is that it being a combo gives all u need...
the dist is very good and the depth is awesome, and clean channel is good enough though i really dont use it many time... all i need is the metal kinda tone i get it through this...
Ease of Use:
very very easy

10 out of 10Feature:
I think the reverb is great. The only problem with the fx is that the delay is not versitile. You only have one kind. But thats ok because you can get a pedal for that. The others effects are good tho.
Quality:
The quality is outstanding. My friend has had this amp transported all over for gigs or practice and this thing looks new. Sometimes you can encounter a knob becoming loose, but not on this amp. Its like they carefully make each amp perfect.
Value:
I think that it is a little pricey but its definatley worth it. If i were to give a perfect value price, i would say $400 instead of $499.
Desirability:
It looks so awesome. When my band was setting up one time for a gig people would often say, "Holy crap man nice amp!" I love how the front panel is gold and the rest is black. The whole thing is simple and thats why I like it.
Sound:
I play Metallica and music of that sort so if i am tryin to get a sound close to that its easy. The close crunch that you get out of the distortion is amazing. The reverb is insane. The fx arent the greatest but hey its not a pedal its a combo. The clean channel isnt for jazz or blues players but if you like metal here is your amp!
Ease of Use:
It is very easy to get the exact sound from this amp. You can hear a huge difference when you turn a knob 20 degrees. I like the mids all the way cut out and when i turn down that mid, it feels like its sucking the air out of your ears.
Overall:
I am in the process of buying one of these amps myself and I would neevr think about getting any other amp. I was close to buying a line 6 spider 112 amp until I used my friends marshall and i was hooked, and still am. I have never heard a better amp for what I want to play.

7 out of 10Feature:
The effects are alright, but good pedals are abetter way to go. Contour switch is cool, can change the sound drastically. Footswitch is rugged.
Quality:
Like everyone else, my fan started making that buzzing noise, but a just pound it with my hand and it stops, for a while. You just have to turn it up so you can't hear it. I have put this amp through hell. It has sat in freezing cold garages, had beer spilt on it, been dropped, and it still works fine. My handle came loose, but it has yet to actually fall off, so it's still good.
Value:
If you play with a band and need a loud, value priced amp, this is it. However, it is just that, a value priced amp. But there really is not another amp comparable in this price range.
Desirability:
It looks alright. The covering is kind of cheap looking, and don't leave it in a hot car cause it will melt and expand a little on the corners above the controls.
Sound:
For an amp that's under $500, the tone is probably worth it. I've had this amp for about 3 years and played with a band most of the time. A good all around rock amp, from classic rock to heavy metal. Unfortunately, I have outgrown this amp. I would classify it as an intermediate amp. Works great for playing where volume is needed, but tends to get muddy and sometimes lost in the mix. The FDD switch is alright, (I always leave it on) but it does not have the tonal characteristics of a tube amp, and that's why I intend on buying a real tube head. Has an fair clean channel. Reverb is pretty good. Is pretty loud but I would not try to compete with a tube half or full stack.
Support:
Never had to.
Overall:
Not a bad amp, not a great amp, but if you need a good, loud amp and are on a budget, this is probably for you.

1 out of 10Feature:
Includes foot pedal - a cover would be nice.
Quality:
Fit and finish are nice. In the one year I have owned it, it has been in the shop for 4 months (and is there now...). I have had repeated problems with the amp cutting out, static sounds while playing, and intermittent loss of certain frequencies (high end) while playing. Loose solder connections, etc. have been redone, but the longest I have had the amp is 6 consecutive months between breakdowns. My guess is there is a problem with the digital processing, but I'm having a hard time just getting work done on it.
Value:
At this point I can't even sell the amp - it's been broken most of the time I've owned it and I can't seem to get anyone to fix it. The only reason I give it a 3 is that I might still be able to use the speakers and cabinet with a new head someday, so it's not a total loss. The question is, how much are 2 12" speakers and a cabinet worth?
Desirability:
It's a Marshall - I did want it.
Sound:
The sound is good - overdrive better than clean. Digital effects are OK, but you would be better off with a tube amp. Unless you play loud, the fan noise is impressive. If I could keep the amp working, I would upgrade to a quieter fan.
Support:
Marshall is terrible for support. There is no warranty duration listed on the website or the Manual. I have tried reaching Marshall directly without luck. No one in Denver wants to do Marshall warranty work. I would strongly suggest buying an item like this locally - at least you can take it back to the shop you bought it from and try to get them to do the warranty work if you have a problem.
Overall:
This has been a terrible year trying to make this amp work. I have pretty much given up on trying to fix it, although I did talk one shop (reluctantly) to try again to work on it. I'm now looking at a Fender all tube amp - with no digital effects. Just get a good tone, then add pedals as needed for effects. I will buy locally this time and be sure to have local warranty support at the store I buy from!

Overdrive goes from smooth to hard sound. Reverb is ok. If you are thinking to buy delay, chorus and flange effects you will not need it any more with this amp. Grate deal for price.
Quality:
Good finish and solid set.
Value:
Best deal for best price.
Desirability:
If you don't have it yet, own it one.
Sound:
Sound is grate! Although it's not a tube amp, it sound like this with FDD function. Stereo 2x50 12" speakers sound is grate for digital effects delay, chorus and flange. Tones controls are designed for electric guitar, they are into this range.

Any comments, Marshals is the best.

a much heard complaint....no reverb on the footswitch...and no lights either which ive seen on footswitches....*not handy when gig time comes around*

Value:
$550 is a load of money in my family. Lets just say ill have a up Christmas but i think the money is worth it for the tooonneee....(mmmm) (solos) (rythm too....) (buy it)
Desirability:
sex appeal...and its a practical kick amp
Sound:
ohh the sound!!!
I was comparing this with the mg100dfx which is the single speaker 100watt amp and the tone on the 250 was just so much smoother, full, powerfull. It really comes close to valve. Just using the onboard effects you can create these tones that just scream. I made my guitar cry. (BUY IT)
Support:
im sure theyre nice people
Overall:
simply...i love this amp. Its been in my dreams for so long (that might be an exageration) but when i finally got it home i fell in love. Marshall thinak you. 10 out of 10Feature:
for me, the less gadgets the better! Although having the chorus, delay, flange built in is nice and I do use them. I'm glad it came with the pedal to switch from clean to overdrive and the second swith to turn on/off the effects; works great!
Quality:
Quality, so far so good. I play mainly at my house, and occassionally go jam with friend's so I doubt it will get banged up. It is built very sturdy and I'm confident I won't have any problems.
Value:
awesome value! okay, I could spend $800 on a Marshall 100 watt 1 12in speaker AVT, over $1,000+ for an all tube combo, or get this for around $500! After spending two hours playing all the Marshall's at a local store, I decided this sounded awesome and was a great value. Tubes? whatever, unless you have money to burn, which I don't.
Desirability:
It looks great! I've always wanted a Marshall and I'm not disappointed. I like the fact that it's a 2 by 12 cabinet, so it's a little longer and not as boxey looking as 1 by 12 inch speaker cabs.
Sound:
I play an early 70's Les Paul (the paul) which I've had for 20 years (since I was 14!). I play mainly old school metal such as Priest, Maiden, Sabbath but also play some blues and jazz and old surf tunes. The overdrive has great distortion for getting the sound I'm looking for and the clean sounds great, especially for Ventures surf tunes with reverb and a little bit of delay.
Support:
I bought this as B-stock, and it was thoroughly inspected before shipping. I haven't dealt with any support yet.
Overall:
Don't buy this if you're only after clean tones....go buy a Fender. I play mainy metal, and that's why I bought a Marshall. I researched amps for six months before purchasing and for my price range, this was by far the best amp I found for what I was after. Great amp, great value and I very happy with my purchase. Don't let all those tube geeks fool you. You don't need to spend that kind of cash to get a great sound out of an amp. Try one of these and decide for yourself!
