I have had a great experience with Zzounds. I purchased the Marshal MG100HCFX amp head. I used the payment plan option where you can make a payment then Zzounds will send you the gear and allow you to make payments every 30 days therafter for a total of four payments. There is not another company that I am aware of that offers a payment plan,it just makes it easier to go ahead and be able to get the gear you need when you need it I had the marshall 4x12 cab and needed a head right away. The amp head arrived earlier than expected. I cannot say enough good things on the Marshall amp head the MG100HCFX is 100w head and features effects such as chorus, phaser, flanger, vide, as well as delay with four different types of delay such as hi-fi, tape, multi, and reverse. Amp has 2 channel OD1/OD2 overdrive and clean & crunch. The tone of the Marshall MG100HCFX is amazing on anybody the channels whether its clean crunch or overdrive the amp head also comes with a two channel foot switch which is very handy and allows you to switch between clean and crunch and overdrive OD1 and OD2. I recommend this amp to anyone it is great amp head choice for any type of music.

"The Marshall Effect "

Well, I migrated from a Line 6 Spider IV 150-watt combo amp... so this whole Marshall thing is new to me let alone amp heads. I found this to be an awesome amp overall.. however, I feel the overdrive could be a lot better and it SHOULD have a line out for recording, but nonetheless I highly recommend this head. Go with the matching cabs too! Another thing I love about it is the build, it is excellent and feels like it was carefully designed and made. I will definitely keep this... I would however, recommend you buy or use additional guitar pedals ESPECIALLY if you want a good metal tone. But the clean, and crunch tones are excellent. Not to say the overdrive on this amp sucks, but I was expecting more! Also, get a noise gate, always need one of those!

The purchase was a scratch and dent item and I still cannot find a flaw. I play the head through an upgraded Seismic Audio 2x12 with Eminence Legends (Jazz grouping) and have no complaints. The built-in effects are OK and the amp delivers a broad spectrum of sounds. The SG w/P90's is my preference for the cab and head.

Musical Background:

play out occasionally with a old man garage band as part of the rhythm section.
