Feature:
its a distortion/overdrive pedal. it does eat batteries though, you should invest in a power adapter.

Quality:
its a tank

Value:
well seeing as i have this i dont have any other pedals, so i cant really compare

Desirability:
oh yeah i have to beat the chicks off with a stick. i actually like the grey metalicness

Sound:
Its perfect for your amp when you want to push it over the edge, if your amp just doesnt hit that metallica-master-of-puppets distortion, this is for you. Unless you dont like feedback, this thing has a lot of feedback. Im playing a mahogany guitar through a solid state 100 watt marshall, all connected with monster cables, no other pedals. to get a good sound on your amp turn the gain on your amp to about halfway, and crank the contour to max. if your using the distortion channel i suggest upping the treble and lowering your bass. on the pedal have the gain maxed. the rest of the knobs are up to you!

Ease of Use:
connect cables. insert battery. adjust knobs. press button.

Support:
c'mon, its Marshall!

Overall:
i think ill have it for a long time. if it was stolen i would replace it. what i like most is i can play crunchy crunchy thash with it.

Feature:
Awesome "stacked" knobs. I love the dist./overdrive select swich!

Quality:
It probably wouldn't break if it was in a nuclear explosion!!!

Value:
The pedal is probably 150$ more expensive than it should be- it's almost a joke!

Desirability:
It's a great addition to my pedal collection, the features are cool, and it's looks are incredible! I DEFINATELY would want it if I didn't already have it!!

Sound:
Great sound- good for lead solos or crunch rythym

Ease of Use:
Couldn't possibly be any easier to use.

Support:
All THE WAY!!!!

Overall:
It is the best compact dist/overdrive pedal EVER made.

I just bought a Marshall Jackhammer pedal and it's out of this world! I never new a little pedal could put out such rich sound! I've been very dissatisfied with my tone for soloing. So I started to look casually for a new overdrive pedal. I lost count of the pedals I've tried - every distortion pedal Boss offers, Rocktron, DOD, Ibanez, Danelectro, Zoom, etc. I even tried a $250 Mesa Boogie unit. Then I sampled a Marshall Jackhammer and it was the closest thing I'd ever found (so far) to that elusive "perfect" sound. I can't believe the tones I'm getting out of my Strat! Resonate lows like I'm playing out of a stack! Crystal clear high end! Marvelous tone control that doesn't just go from grating to mud. Distinction in fast runs. It toggles between a blues overdrive that has the growl and bell tones like Stevie Ray Vaughn and a gorgeous silvery solo tone (smooth yet highly responsive). There's only two things against it: slightly poor sustain (it doesn't hold as long as I would like and when the note trails off it starts to break apart, but you have to really listen to hear it) and it's a little noisy (but what overdrive pedal isn't?). It could also use a separate pedal or switch to toggle between the tone settings in live applications.

Feature:
It looks excellent and stylish. The controls are fairly responsive; i can get a peter green / fleetwood mac sound out of this, or something heavier. However, the battery connector is NOT clever, I would suggest the purchase of a decent apadtor (dunlop 5x pedal power thing?) The distortion channel needs a treble booster as it is too bassy. The overdrive channel doesn't produce enough gain for the feedback it can produce at highest levels.

Quality:
It is pretty reliable, except for the battery connector.

Value:
It is cheaper and better than the digitech metal master, which is nice. The value isn't better compared to the

Feature:
It is a tone factory! There are many pedals' sound compressed in the jachammer!!!

Quality:
IT'S HARD!!!

Value:
It may look a little bit expensive for the first time, but when you find that there are endless tones contained in the pedal, you will be happy, and you will find it cheap!

Desirability:
There are no bad features.

Sound:
I've never heared better tone than the jakhammer! IT IS THE BEST!!!

I didn't have to call for support, but it's Marshall....

Style of Music: punk/ pop-punk/ emo and my friend got me into a little metal now too.
Location: hawaii

Feature:
I don't own the pedal, but i was playing around with one in a music store and i can't wait till i get enough money to buy me one. The features are really easy to dial in, and i love the two dials on top of each other look, it turns me on.

Quality:
seemed really strong, and my marshall mg30dfx (awesome practice/small gig amp fyi) has never had any problems in the full month that i've had it. so i cant really say for sure. ill give it a ten because i love the pedal so much.

Value:
in the store it was around 120, but on this site itz only 80 bucks, which is an excellent value. ooo and i have my new genius way to save money on musical equipment in general you just go try out everything in the store, find what you like best, and then find it online for tons less. sorry music stores, but you been trying to rip us all off.

Desirability:
actually, i would give the "sex appeal" a 0 because i really am not planning to use this pedal as a sex toy, ill just use it for my guitar. but you never know, if it gets warm or something after playing it.....

Sound:
when i was playing the guitar, the sound was to die for, no matter how i tweaked the settings. with this pedal, you can get killer high and low combinations without any mids for great punk sounds, or else you can get rid of the lows too for killer, weezer-like distortion. The only problem was that when i turned it on, it had a really loud hum/buzz sound but im pretty sure it was only because the guy gave me junk chords to plug into it, plus it was running through about 10 pedals at once, so that has to take something away from the sound.

Overall:
basically, this is an awesome sounding pedal, but i dont know for sure about how loud of a hum it really would have with a decent chord. also, i dont see the point with the "distortion" mode, because i had it tweaked perfectly on overdrive and i was playing away, but then when i noticed it had two modes i switched it to distortion just to try it out and the sound just got more muddy and unclear, and the tone itself seemed to get worse. then i switched it back to 'overdrive' and it got soooooo much clearer and more wonderful and delicious and beautiful and sweet and rich and creamy, if you will. anyway, just wanted to say great pedal, sounds just like my marshall amp, but i was playing on a crate or something cheap like that.

zZounds has verified that this customer bought this product from us.
Feature:
the shape knobs really contour your tone although the distortion setting isn't that good in my opinion I REALLY like the overdrive setting!!! there are endless variables for tone that can pour out of this thing. With the overdrive on and the contour somewhat dry and a good amount of gain one can achieve a superior heavy metal sound similar to James Hetfields guitars on And justice for all. Although this pedal is by far one of the best I've heard for rhy. channels it is VERY difficult to achieve even a "bottom of the barrel" lead tone.

Extremely Versatile. A must for any Guitarist from a alternative to a heavy metal rythm or lead player. You would not believe it's the same amp you're playing through when you add the Jackhammer. Solid casing. Does not wobble or move around on stage while playing gigs. Very "modern distortion sound" (papa roach, Blink 182, limp bizkit) compared to a Metal Zone's classic distortion ( Old metallica stuff)
