"If you really want it, and your gonna use it, get it"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

i expect this amp will last me the rest of my life if i take care of it. it's helped me to write across different styles, being able to hear how a certain lick sound on a certain type of overdrive or eq. complements any style of music, except grunge.
Sound
love it! it would probably be my fav amp ever, but it's my first serious amp.i play thru a 1960a. i can get ANY sound, QOTSA, mogwai, opeth, very versatile. deep switch and mode switch work a treat. it really is 2 amps in one. i personally prefer 12oclock treb and bass and 2oclock mid with deep switch on at 10oclock crunch with my trem pedal and a tiny bit of reverb
Features
mode and deep switches. the footswitch is physically well built but the lead is crap. replace it. prob change the head to cab lead too.
Quality
Could be a shipping thing but the tubes sometimes come loose in their fitting. not a major problem but watch out.
Value
YES
The Wow Factor
sooooooooooo sexy. prefer it to tsl.

"Great looking amp, even better sounds!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Don't think I'll ever sell this amp - I'll just get more marshalls :)
Sound
If you want that classic marshall tone with a bit more versatility than a 2203 or plexi this is your amp. Clean tones are the best I've heard from a marshall (probably with the exception of the new JVM). The crunch and lead tones really rock! As a caveat YOU MUST BIAS the amp before making up your mind. Mine had been sitting in a shop for 12 months without being played. Sounded ok in the shop, but once it was biased and re-tubed (only cost 20 pounds for new JJ's) it was amazing! Sounds best when cranked! :D Its also really responsive to your playing, how hard you attack the strings etc...
Features
Good - does what it says on the tin. 2 channels, clean/crunch & lead. Each channel has 2 modes and it would be nice to change those from the footswitch. Its pretty versatile with seperate reverb for each channel and an effects loop - but its no JVM.
Ease of Use
Don't know how you could get much easier. Set the pres=2, treble=2-3, mid=4, bass=4-5 and pick your gain level & volume.
Quality
Very well made - mines an early one, after 12 months of sitting on a shelf it turned on & sounded great with just a small warmup. Construction is very solid.
Value
Mine was just over half the retail price - used they are better value. New - still pretty good compared to boogies, Diezel etc...
Manufacturer Support
Emailed marshall a few times, although not with this amp. They respond quickly and are very helpfull.
The Wow Factor
Just look at the logo.

"The Marshall DSL50 "The best 50 watt money can buy""

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've never had any trouble with this amp and use it everyday. It sounds just like the vintage marshalls but with more practical features like the bass boost.
Sound
The sound quality is excellent, it is extremely warm. The 50 watt head will breakup better than the 100 watt head
Features
The amp is very straight forward with not too many controls. the only thing I don't like is that you cannot switch between clean and crunch channels with the supplied foot pedal
Quality
Marshall is the best I've owned two of them and have never had trouble. They use excellent components, and make a wonderful product.
Value
This amp is worth the money, the all valve amps just sound much better than solid state or tube hybrids.
Manufacturer Support
I've only called one time and they were extremely professional, they referred me back to the dealer for the correct accessory.
The Wow Factor
the marshall script logo says it all

"Not bad..."

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Overall 6 Just didint give me much of a kick compared to mesa boogies and other amps ive tried. i acctually even preffered a peavey valveking to be honest.
Sound
Sounded a bit to..."normal" to me didint really blow me away in anyway If you messed about with the settings for a while maybe you could get a decent sound
Features
The foot pedal and the two channels i guess gave it a bit of versitality
Ease of Use
Very easy to use not lots of complicated knobs and buttons anyone can just dial in what they want and you get a decent tone out of it
Quality
The build quality was defently that of a higher end marshall you can tell by the weight and how the knobs look all securley on.
Value
To be honest buying this new would be silly because for that price i think you could get something better used.
Manufacturer Support
I havent bought it or anything i tried it in a music store so i dont know
The Wow Factor
Probably would be appealing to many because of the bands that use them and the name of it. and the facts its tube.
