This stereo, 75-watt per side, 2x12 in. combo is the bigger brother of the AVT150 combo. It boasts the same 4 channels and 2 DFX Sections of the AVT150, but the stereo 2x12 in. format allows the onboard DFX to add an incredibly rich, stereo dimension to your sound. Learn More...

Third year and no support needed!
Overall:
Least: Has only one input jack.
Otherwise, I will never need another. If stolen, lost etc., I would get another but probably not for the price I paid.
Great amp, indoors or out!

6 out of 10Feature:
alot of features, but nothing amazing the presance it usless if you turn it lower than 10 then you may aswell be playing bass ...icky! muddy hell, all the effect arn't really great there all very similar in the reverd/delay department, the other like flange chourus aint great either, i'd much much rather use 'Boss' pedals instead, but the reverb are great though very impressed with them.
Quality:
i have no beef with marshall i love there products (minus this) marshalls are built like tanks!! excellant quility.
Value:
for the amount of features on this amp i'd say its worth it, just wish they could have made tose features work much better
Desirability:
i really dont want it any more at all it totaly unispires me to play cause it sound like a muddy pile, but when i was on this site a few months back reading reviews i noticed there was only a few bad ones, so i just figure they were just anti marshall or idiots, but now i kind of know what they were saying, i just wish they were wrong
Sound:
the clean channel on this amp is really quite good (9)
the acoustic channel probaly isn't great for mimicing an acoustic but it stilll sound pretty god dam nice espessially with some reverb(9) the od2 i found to be a big pile of crap though, this amp overall problem is that its way too bassy if you like to play heavy and tune down alot all you going to get is the huge amount of bass making your sound muddy, even if you turn the mids and bass all the way off its still too bassy compared to fenders in the same price range and then theres not enough gain to get a goot scratchy sound, truts me its hard to find a sweet spot for this amp, i've now realisd that i cant even get close to the sound i want with drive, if you looking for a heavy distortion, trust me dont even look at this amp, it wont cut it, i use it with a les paul and EMG 81/85 and to be honist i'd rather use my fender front man for distortion innstead thats how crap it is, but for rock n' roll i imagine this amop would be just fine, by the way the older valvstate 100 model is a shit load better, i would easily have my old valstate over this, (4) OD1 howerver is acctually got quite a rich crunch sound to it, i use it mostly for stuff like ac/dc tracks etc, and it doesn't sound bad at all, but then if i'm playing rock then i wont need to ask much fro this amps drive, (8)
Support:
not needed any yet
Overall:
overall i think this amp is great to a point, you try and get a metal tone, you'll find the amp will run out of puff before you get to your sweet spot (trust me), and then you will get lots of mud, so you'll have to turn back down the gain till you just manage a rock crunch, poor, but everything else is satisfactory or above so i give it a close six and not a bit more

1 out of 10Feature:
good features, but needs presence/contour controls for each channel. It has master presence and volume and no contour.
Quality:
I'll be frank- i abuse my amps. But this one holds up nicely. the birch is really solid (and a bit heavy). If you want a portable amp this is not the on for you unless your a monster like me and can carry its kind of weight everywhere. The knobs are also holding up perfectly. The only bad part is that the cover tears really easily. Mine already has a few duck tape patches on it, and I'm pretty careful with the covers.
Value:
Fortunately, it doesn't need much work, and it's really hard to find four channel amps especially with effects. but theres no use for the acoustic simulation- tis crap. go for a 3 channel amp like a marshall, save a buck, and get great support and bone-crushing tone. Still, if you want a Marshall and can't afford the mode four, this is the way to go, and for a Marshall like it, it's a great deal (then again marshall is way overpriced...). I got mine for 720 though.
Desirability:
It's a great looking amp, sounds good, and has a bunch of unique features, its just bit heavy. That's the one thing I'll hand to Marshall is that they make sexy amps.
Sound:
great clean tone, but acooustic simulation is far from realistic and both completely lack volume. Distortion sounds good, but you'd expect more out of a Marshall, and it doesnt't sound lie 150 watts- more like 100. effects are limited but good, however all 16 are pretty similar. At the same though, it ofers a multitude of great sounds and the scoop feature is really nice. I use it with a mexican strat and itll scream when i need it too. And, if i remember correctly its got celestion 70-80s in it.
Support:
Marshall ofers absolutely no support without self-paid long distance calls with 20 minutes of waiting or overseas mailing. They have absolutely no American based service offices, and no repair options. If there's a factory defect you'll have to pay huge shipping fees overseas for their mistake, so I don't reccomend buying this product online as yoyu can't check it. Also, when I called them up about a problem with mine, they lied and said it wasn't covered in the warranty, then said I couldn't fix it myself or I'd void the precious thing which was useless anyway. I fixed it myself in 5 minutes, saved 200 bucks, voided know warranty, and lost like 5 bucks with the phone call.
Overall:
I love the amp, but it leaves me wanting, and for a while it's great, but isn't the 150 watt monster you think it is. For me though, it's been a god amp, and I've played a lot of shows with it and don't plan on having to buy another any time soon. Also, the fact that it uses solid state amplification and a tube preamp means virtually nothing to replace. It's pretty maintenace free if you're into that.

9 out of 10Feature:
This is why unless you're touring, there's no sense going for a MEsa triple rectified head. The AVT has great features; four foot switchable channels, scoop switch, bright switch and great built in delay. There's a lot of built in reverb which is great but to me the built in effects are all about the great delay. I'm turning in my Boss digital delay pedal. Its useless now. Also, the emulated line outs are great for stereo recording to your PC. Headphone jack for silent practice is aweosme too. To get these features at the price is great.
Quality:
Give me abreak. This thing is a tank.
Value:
Again, no other way to get the tube sound with features for this price.
Desirability:
Great looking amp. From someone that grew up watching Judas Priest and their wall of Marshalls, its kind of cool to look over at it and see the gold Marshall plate staring back at me.
Sound:
All four channels are excellent. The OD-2 really rocks. With the scoop switch engaged you can really get a nice metal rhythm sound going. For leads I use the OD-2 channel without the scoop switch and use a boss cs-2 compressor/sustainer and the tone is great. I would defy anyone to close their eyes and tell me an all tube amp is better sounding than this. Great amp. I will say that at very high volumes I'm hearing a little muddiness on the rhythm but I just haven't tweaked it yet. Anytime I've been unhappy with the sound it was easily changed by tweaking the knobs.
Support:
No rating. Haven't had to deal with anyone
Overall:
I will have this amp for a long time. Again, Mesa is great. And tubes are great when they are in both stages, pre and power, but this amp does a great job of mimicing that with just the tube in the one stage. And unless you're on tour, you don't need anything other than this Marhsall. You can play it silently with headphones. you can play it at low volume in your bedroom or you can gig with it.

10 out of 10Feature:
The stereo FX loop is very useful for stereo FX, such as dual channel eq's.
Quality:
I bring my AVT along to band practices and it seems to hold up very well in the car.
Value:
Price is totally worth it, although i think most of the price is deffinalty for the name.
Desirability:
To me, Marshall is a must to my sound, you really can't get a real Marshall sound out of a multi FX processor.
Sound:
The sound is absoulutly incredible. Paired with the MXR 10 band eq and your set.
Overall:
Marshall was a great buy for me. It had all the features i needed and is GREAT for recording. The emulated outputs are true to their word, they do not distort the sound coming out. And with the master volume, silent recording is not a problem.
