"My first real Martin"

This is my first real Martin. I bought a Sigma Martin (SDR-28H) in 1994 that has a solid spruce top and it sounds very good but this Martin DRSGT all solid wood acoustic guitar sounds fantastic! I bought this guitar blemished for $619.95 and I'm very happy with the deal. The wood grain in the top has a few markings that arejimn't scratches or anything like that it just looks like the wood grain sort of slides in a peculiar direction in about two areas about 4 inches long but only about 1/4 inch in width. I couldn't be happier about these blemishes since I bought a $1000 All solid wood Martin for only $619.95 no tax free shipping. This is my first review for ZzOunds even though I've bought two other blemished guitars from you guys in the past year and those two were also fantastic. I'm 56 and played in a band with my best friend from 1980 - 1985 and he has bought at least 10 guitars from Zounds and we both highly recommend their customer service. I also bought a Blemished Ibanez AW 535 and I purchased this guitar for $279.95 and this guitar is awesome! I could find no noticeable blemish on this guitar anywhere. The back of this Ibanez is beautiful. My Martin sounds better but for the price the IbaneZ Artwood Series guitars sound great with the D'addario coated EXP strings and even better with the Elixir phosphor bronze I have on it now. The Martin DRSGT comes with Martin Lifespan strings and they sound very good. However, I will wait a few months and replace these Lifespan strings with Elixirs Phosphor Bronze from Juststrings.com
Sound
I own 8 acoustic guitars and this Martin sounds better than anything I own. it will sound and play easier and even better with Elixir strings.
Features
Martin logo on the headstock.
Ease of Use
The Ease of playability is very high.
Quality
The precision of the bridge pins fitting in the bridge is the best I've seen. The quality and perfection of the build of this guitar is by far the best I have. The A-Frame bracing on this model allows the top to resonate very well.

Musical Background:

Played semi- professionally from 1980-1985. Play Guitar ,Mandolin and. Harmonica.

Musical Style:

Rock, country, and Bluegrass.

"My second Martin"

Let me start by saying I got an excellent price on this guitar due to zZounds price match guarantee. First off when I received it I opened it up and something looked different but I just couldn't put my finger on it. So I took it to a luthier to have it set up to suit me ie. have the action lowered and 3100 strings put on as with my D15M (also bought from zZounds). The follow day I went to pick it up and the luthier said this guitar plays like a dream (he was right) and then ask if I was interested in selling it, I said no of course. Then I ask him about the look that had me stumped (but it somehow looked better than the picture) if tat is possible, so I was not complaining. He told me that Martin made a limited run of these DRSGT guitars with morado finger boards and bridge. So that was what I couldn't put my finger on about the look, little play on words there, ha ha. So instead of a richlite finger board and bridge I had an all wood version of the DRSGT needless to say I am very pleased. This has been my 3rd guitar purchase from zounds (Epiphone Les Paul standard also) among many other items and have been very pleased with each one. Have not ever had to use factory support but it is Martin.

"DRSGT Martin"

I was on the fence with this and the DRS2. I didn't have a lot to spend and wanted the best I could afford as most people do I think. Now I should say that I prefer Martins over any other guitar at this price point. I also own a Martin D15M and it sounds great. When I received the DRSGT I took it to the same luthier I always use, to have this set up. When I went back to pick it up he asked if I would like to sell it, HA HA. I of course said no. He told me that everything just fell into place and to try it. I did and let me tell you that I absolutely love my (D15M) but this plays better. ( IT IS SWEET ). Also I would like to add that the DRSGT I received from zZounds was one of the few Martin ran with the Morado finger board and bridge as apposed to richlite so I ended up with a complete wood guitar. I also like the electronics in the sound hole it give the guitar a nicer appearance I think.

Musical Background:

35 plus years, guitar and bass guitar mostly at home now days

Bought his for my oldest son for Christmas. He hasn't gotten it yet but I have several friends who are guitarists and have owned and played many different brands. They all raved about this guitar and how it played. I don't think I could have done much better. And with zZounds 12 month payment plan, it really fit the bill. Extremely pleased with this purchase from zZounds. My son will be too Christmas morning! I only gave the manufactures support a 3 star because I haven't used them yet.
