Martin BCPA4 Performing Artist Acoustic-Electric Bass (with Case)

A Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides give this 14-fret acoustic bass a crisp tone that sounds incredible through the built-in Fishman F1 pickup.

"It's a fabulous instrument. "

I've played acoustic bass guitars of all shapes and sizes and makes and models. That includes the Martin model prior to this one. Except for the fender Victor Bailey model, none of them worked as an instrument, including the Martin. The BCPA4 changes all that. The neck plays like a dream. The tone is big and loud and bassy, either acoustic or electric. The electronics give you what you need to amplify. The instrument is stout and put together well and comes with a hardshell case. And it is beautiful. I have not played it on a loud stage, which is where most acoustic bass guitars fail. All in all, a fabulous instrument to make music with!
