I love using D'Addarrio on all my guitars and have been using them for 20 years but these Monel's will be my new strings of choice for my Gallagher Doc Watson. At first the sound of the bass sounded a little muted to my ear but after I played them for awhile I loved the balance between the bass and the sweet bell like tones of the treble strings. As I said I thought the sound was a little muted at first until my fiance heard me playing and remarked how much louder and clear my guitar sounded and she didn't know I had changed strings. These strings really shine with songs that are more jazz influenced. I have had them on for 2 weeks now with a lot of playing time and they sound great and hold tune perfectly. One other thing to mention is these strings broke in quicker than any other string I have ever tried. An awesome new string development.

The Martin Monel Signatures are giving me the richest sound to date on my (2000) J-200 the E:.13, B:.016, G:.026, D:.034, A:.044, E:.056 are not any harder on the hand than 12's also I've used Gibson’s Phosphor Bronze J-220 Gauges 13-17-26w-35-45-56, Martin's Monel strings have a pure separation from e to e and the higher E A D don't try to overpower the G B E I have a Martin D-45s with new 12's soon to be changed over to the Tony Rice Signature Monel Strings Thanks Martin & Co. and zZounds for the sweet deal on these strings
