I've bought and sold several nice classical guitars over the years (average cost about $2000 each), cedar and spruce tops, solid rosewood. This one is at the front of the pack. Arrived ready to play, good set up. The tone is clear and well-balanced, without a dull spot or any buzz on the fretboard. Good projection. I really appreciate the slightly thinner neck, since I'm not primarily a classical guitarist although I do play fingerstyle and classical pieces. It's a great cross-over for me. I bought the "blemished" model at a reduced price, but it's basically new, not a problem that I can see. It's a terrific instrument. I read the negative review on this site about this guitar, and it sounds like nonsense. This is my second Martin guitar and they've both been superior quality. I would not hesitate to recommend this model.

Been playing guitar since I was 8. Have played professionally, now I just play because I love to and in Church. I have always wanted a Martin because Johnny Cash played one, but since 1975 when I discovered Willie I wanted a Martin Classical because he played one. Never did buy the steel string as I bought a remarkable handmade custom that cant be beat. When I saw the price on this, I pulled the trigger( and I absolutely love the pay as you play option). Out of the Box it had two broken strings. Zzounds sent me a set of strings(of MY choice) immediately. The sound is pure magic! After getting used to a slightly wider neck, the playability is fantastic! I have not put it down in a week. If you are looking for a great Classical guitar at an affordable price...look no further. Buy one now! And I must say, Zzounds customer service is second to none. Their dedication to your satisfaction is a refreshing change in this day of "Yeah Whatever"... I'll be back for more Many times! Cant thank you enough!

This 000C Nylon is all I expected it would be. For 18 years I have owned and played a variety of Martin's including: a 1996 HD-28, a 2000 HD-28V, a 2007 DXME and my crown jewel a 1939 D-18 of which I am but the second owner. So I've become accustomed to Martin's excellence and this 000C Nylon is no exception and zZounds' service, prices and the quality of information from their representatives is equal to what one would expect the Martin Co. to demand of a dealer.

Musical Background:

Guitar since age 8. Also Organ, Keyboard, Percussion

Musical Style:

Favorite: the jazz standards plus selected broadway tunes and pop hits of the '70's and '80's. Have jammed with amateur country

"Martin 000C blemished - good experience"

So far, everything has gone well concerning my new but blemished 000C nylon. It is a wonderful guitar and I was happy to find it at such a reasonable price at zZounds - it was shipped as promised, and arrived in good order. The blemish turned out to be a couple of swirly areas on the spruce top (I suppose that's why it's "blemished"), nothing that bothers me. Playability is as nice as the 000C I played in a store nearby, and the Fishman F1 seems to work well. I will probably need to have a setup to improve action on the higher end of the neck for my own taste, although it is playable as is - OK - and I would have liked it if Martin made this model with natural fretboard, bridge and buttons - though this is not an issue with zZounds, as Martin would have to custom build it. Registration with Martin was not a problem. Thanks for the satisfactory experience, zZounds! It could have been imroved by being able to tell me a bit about the blemish before you shipped it - a photo or description - that would be my one suggestion for improvement. Cheers!

"Feels great, smells great! But will not recommend"

My girlfriend actually purchased this guitar for me a little more than a month ago and I was 'by far' so excited as I've been very please and happy with my Martin OMCPA3 guitar. upon receiving it, the feel was great. The neck is slightly wider than an acoustic steel string guitar, BUT, ever so slightly narrow than a traditional classical guitar. Anyhow, upon playing this first guitar, I noticed that the intonation was off. The D, B and high E string would go extremely flat when traveling up the fret board. Even the onboard tuner was verifying this coincidence. So I spoke with a zzounds rep who told me to wait for a week. Anyhow, during this week I took it to a Martin certified luthier who told me that it was a bad guitar and that I should send it back. So once this week was up, I ended up sending that guitar back after working with the polite reps. Upon sending the Martin back, they immediately shipped a 2nd guitar back to me (which is rare for any company to do). So, upon receiving this guitar, I checked the features and found everything to be as the latter guitar, but the intonation was still off. The high E string on this instrument actually held up and was right on with my Boss Tuner and even with the onboard tuner. The only strings that are giving me problems now is the A and D string. Same thing, after the luthier inspected and played, they said to try and send it back. Another thing I noticed is that when I pluck an open A string on the instrument, it makes this 'hollow buzz' noise that eventually grows into a slight annoyance. And don't get me wrong, the action is already pretty high. Overall, if the action was great, and most of all, if the intonation was as great as my Martin and Taylor guitar, I would keep it. I am intending to look for options on sending this guitar back and getting a different classical guitar. I hope this review helps everyone out in making a decision and I hope that I only have received 'lemon guitars'. It is quite possible.

Beautiful guitar, very well made. Couldn't keep the strings in tune, so I have changed them to some high-tension french strings which are doing much better. As I don't play as much as I used to, this guitar is much easier to play, but do miss the bigger sound of a steel stringed guitar. Solid case, but needs more latches as I don't feel it to be as air-tight as my Taylor cases.

I have been playing since I was 4, about 58 years now. Was worship leader for 20 some years.

I was interested in a crossover nylon acoustic and wanted something with a great sound, yet better playability for my style of music. I am not a classical player and do not care for the traditional wide neck. The Martin is well constructed and is a nice guitar. However, it is not for me. I did not care for the richlite fretboard and bridge. It just felt and looked cheap. For the price of this guitar I would expect ebony or rosewood. The electronics were fine. No issues there. But - the guitar just sounded flat and very uninspiring. It played nicely, but I couldn't get over the lack of any decent tones. I'd rather have a crappy looking guitar that sounds great than a fancy one that sounds awful. I sent it back after a week. Martins are hailed as the benchmark guitars for a lot of people. This guitar did nothing to uphold that reputation.
