Feature:
Came with everything it needed except for decent documentation and the 'Enigma' was not of any use to me because it's not very well documented. For instance, I have no idea how to set the global midi channel using enigma and it's nowhere in the help file. I found it much easier to set it all up just using the TF's physical buttons.

Quality:
Definitely not built like a tank but for $150 I wasn't expecting it to be indestructible. It's made of plastic and if I were going to take it on the road I would be very careful to wrap it up in lots and lots of padding.

Value:
They dropped the ball on adding support for reason. They claim on the web site that you don't need drivers to get it to work... but in the box there IS a driver disk.

Desirability:
It's pretty cool now that it works, it's definitely a set up from banging drums on the keyboard.

Sound:
No problems with it playing extra notes so far

Ease of Use:
Once you set it up it's simple, but getting it to work in reason was a long process. Here's what worked for me because I've seen a lot of other people on other sites asking how to do it. To get trigger finger working in reason set the global midi channel to 1. To do this press 'save & exit' and 'exit' at the same time to enter edit mode. Use the channel slider to select channel 1. Press 'save & exit' and then hit a pad to save it. Then to assign the right notes to the pads enter edit mode again and hit pad 1 and use the 'note' knob to set it to C1. (not C.1 which is c#1). That sets it to your bass drum. Press 'save&exit' again and press pad 1 to save your setting. Before you define the rest of the notes, get it working with reason. Go into Preferences->Control Surfaces and add the trigger finger as if it were a regular keyboard. Set it to be the master keyboard. At this point DO NOT press anything on the TF because it may cause reason to freeze. Instead close reason and restart it and make a redrum and set the midi keyboard to point to it and you should be able to make the kick play using pad 1. If it works, go through the rest of the pads and set them to the right notes (c1, c.1, d1, d.1, ...) and save your settings and you should be ready to go. It is also possible to set it up not on channel 1 via the Reason midi bus at the top of the rack. That doesn't work very well because then it seems you can't record midi events into the sequencer.

Support:
Didn't have to contact them.

Overall:
I like how it looks and feels. The software support for reason was nowhere near as simple as M-Audio claims though.

Feature:
features everything that the MPD has and then some.

Quality:
it feels better than the AKAI MPD. for what I use this thing, i do not need an MPC 1000 etc. I have thousands of samples on my computer and i can use those. what the MPC does is takes away the need of a computer. I use a computer to produce so i am very happy with my trigger finger

Value:
more features and better feel than MPD-16.....but lower price.....

Desirability:
its a must have for computer producers

Sound:
doesn't have any drum sounds but i use some quality samples from my PC

Support:
never needed

Overall:
I am very happy with this product.

Feature:
great stuff; you can assign nearly any message to any control. Want a modulation controller? Assign a pad to it, and vary it by pressing. Awesome stuff. You can do ALL KINDS of cool stuff with it.

Quality:
Seems very well built for a big plastic device. You don't feel like you're gonna break it when you're tapping on the pads, at least.

Value:
Oh, yeah. Great device for portable composition. It's no Roland V-Drum setup, but you can pack it along with an O2 and be ready to compose anywhere.

Desirability:
I have wanted one for some time, and I've been really happy with the reality.

Sound:
N/A... it's a midi device, so it doesn't make any sounds.

Ease of Use:
If you download Enigma, it's simple. If you don't, it's a PITA.

Support:
M-Audio has always given me good support when I needed them.

Feature:
It does everything you could ask for from a midi controller. I only wish it had come with a power adapter. It is usb powered also but if you are controlling a device that is not a pc, it would come in handy. Also a MIDI In port would have been nice to have incase you wanted to program it via midi instead of USB.

Quality:
Great quality, after a transporting a few months back and forth in my bag, it is starting to show some wear on the casing but the device it self still works great and responds even better than before.

Value:
This is a great value with 16 presets, 4 sliders, and 8 rotaries you can really use the device to control a lot.

Desirability:
The pads feel great and respond well

Sound:
The device itself does not make sound but the pressure and velocity sensitivity allows for very expressive playing and midi control.

Ease of Use:
Very straight forward design and the enigma program is very easy to use to program the device.

Support:
Haven't had to call them. But the website's knowledge base is very precise and helpful.

Feature:
Does everything you will imagine. Takes about a day to learn all the features because (as usual) the manual is not a cakewalk.

Quality:
Feels like it will last a long time.

Value:
A bargain at the price. Thank god I don't have to play drums on the keyboard anymore.

Desirability:
I have one, wouldn't part with it.

Sound:
Does not make its own sounds, but brings out the best from your sampler/sequencer.

Support:
Have not needed support.

Overall:
I can't imagine anything that will come out that is better. If you have a sequencer and a sampler (I use Kompakt), you can program truly expressive drums with multi-layered samples. Note: it runs perfectly with Windows 2000 and USB 1 even though it says only Windows XP.

Feature:
Average feature, very hard to set up the drivers. It took me 2 months to get it to worl I'm not even kidding.

Quality:
You'd think it came from Toys'R Us. The worst piece of equipment in my entire collection.

Value:
So many other companies have better version for cheaper. The new AKAI setup is half the price and does the same exact thing.

Desirability:
Nothing special about it.

Sound:
Sounds fine, I mean...it's just a midi pad setup. Nothing bad about it, except craftmanship. Total crap. Knobs pop right off. I've alreadt lost three. Not a good traveling companion. For $79.00....sure. $200? Forget it. Seriously, pass.

Ease of Use:
Read previous.

Support:
Don't even bother. They are useless and unhelpful.

Overall:
I'll eventually get a better setup for my midi beats. For now, it's paid for and doing it's job.
