Feature:
Keys are solid, if you're used to synths....knobs and sliders have a good feel to them. Easy to program.
Quality:
Mechanically, it works very well. As a live controller...sorry.
The Ozone crapped out on me where I needed it most - live performance. Set everything up, went through sound check, and left the rig alone....then when it was time to play, the keyboard's MIDI and audio were locked up. Had to play the set using only a mouse. BIG bummer. Have since heard from others that the unit is not reliable when set up vias USB.
The audio I/O also crapped out on me--locked up between sound check and go-time, so I had the use my laptop's 1/8" output.
Titanum G4 PowerMac Laptop, OS 9.2.2, MIDI via USB, Reason 2.5 & Live 3.02
Value:
Would give it a 10 if it was more reliable. Wish I'd never bought it, as is.
Desirability:
Well, I do have it already.
Wanted it BAD before I bought it. Now I want a Novation.
Sound:
MIDI - It's a Controller, no sound of it's own as a keyboard.
Audio I/O - The built in audio inputs are good quality, great for the price. I'd like more input options, but that's another product....
Support:
From what I've seen, M-Audio support is great--but their FAQs and other info. don't really address the stability issues.
Overall:
I love M-Audio as a company, and on paper the Ozone looked awesome. But I need stability in a live setup, and the Ozone did not deliver. Since that's basically what it's designed for, I'd say don't buy it.
