10 out of 10Feature:
Hmm, this is a slight bone of contention here. Some of the free software I got with Ozone was only usable if you registered the software online. I don't put my music computer online and the software companies were less than helpfull about helping me install their products on an offline machine.
Quality:
Again, no faults after four years mean I cannot complain.
Value:
Great value for money considering my experiences and the use I've had from Ozone.
Desirability:
This means nothing to me.
Sound:
I've had this little beastie for over 4 years now and to be honest I can't say a bad word against it. It has never let me down and interfaces perfectly with my setup. I don't use it live and therefor cannot comment on that aspect but for my home recordings, i use it in conjuction with Reason and Cubase and as I said have had no problems at all.
Ease of Use:
I have no worries here. I don't even think I needed the manual. What is there to say about Ozone thats not already been said.
Support:
I've never had to contact them.
Overall:
I'll be happy to use this machine until it dies. Then I'll look at some new technical wizardry.

10 out of 10Feature:
mic pre amp loses power over time wich results in a weak signal
Quality:
power supply went out in the first week but support sent a replacement asap. fine after that 2 years strong
Value:
low quality pre amps could be cheaper
Desirability:
black would be a better over all color
Sound:
computer based recording is fine. sets up very easy.
Ease of Use:
if you work with midi, well , midi is midi
Support:
power supply went out in the first week but support sent a replacement asap. fine after that 2 years strong
Overall:
i like the portablity for mobile recording with my laptop, but i plan on an upgrade to firewire home based studio to cut down on the set up and reconnect everytime i want to work at home or on the road

1 out of 10Feature:
The manual is pretty slim.
Quality:
Ozones (and Oxygens) are legendary for poor quality, especially when gigged. As stated before, the audio interface portion of my ozone never worked at all. I've had intermittent problems during shows with the Ozone suddenly failing to transmit midi data until reset. Really, I came to distrust this whole thing and now use an Edirol PCR30 for live shows.
The power supply shorted out within 2 weeks of owning this, which was not a big deal.
Value:
I'm biased since my Ozone shipped to me in a broken state.
Desirability:
Here's the deal - I've noticed that a lot of people think it's pretty funny if someone has an Ozone or Oxygen. I've had so many people come up to me and say "I had one of those once...it broke within a week". If you are only going to use it in a home environment, the Ozone could potentially work for you. But it simply does not make the grade for live performances.
Sound:
From day one, the audio interface part of this controller just did not work. I thought perhaps I was missing something or doing something wrong, but after several months and several different sound setups, it still doesn't work.
I'm lucky since I don't need the audio interface that much since I'm a VJ, i imagine I would have been a lot more upset if I was doing anything else.
Overall:
I do shows 2-3 times a week, every week. As such, I need something that is reliable, which the Ozone just is not. It looks nice and it fits in a backpack with my laptop, however I'd rather carry something bigger around if I was certain it would work when I turned it on.

8 out of 10Feature:
Keys are solid, if you're used to synths....knobs and sliders have a good feel to them. Easy to program.
Quality:
Mechanically, it works very well. As a live controller...sorry.
The Ozone crapped out on me where I needed it most - live performance. Set everything up, went through sound check, and left the rig alone....then when it was time to play, the keyboard's MIDI and audio were locked up. Had to play the set using only a mouse. BIG bummer. Have since heard from others that the unit is not reliable when set up vias USB.
The audio I/O also crapped out on me--locked up between sound check and go-time, so I had the use my laptop's 1/8" output.
Titanum G4 PowerMac Laptop, OS 9.2.2, MIDI via USB, Reason 2.5 & Live 3.02
Value:
Would give it a 10 if it was more reliable. Wish I'd never bought it, as is.
Desirability:
Well, I do have it already.
Wanted it BAD before I bought it. Now I want a Novation.
Sound:
MIDI - It's a Controller, no sound of it's own as a keyboard.
Audio I/O - The built in audio inputs are good quality, great for the price. I'd like more input options, but that's another product....
Support:
From what I've seen, M-Audio support is great--but their FAQs and other info. don't really address the stability issues.
Overall:
I love M-Audio as a company, and on paper the Ozone looked awesome. But I need stability in a live setup, and the Ozone did not deliver. Since that's basically what it's designed for, I'd say don't buy it.

It's just so damn easy to use and it just put's a smile on my face using it.I had already brought the studio back packbag from m-audio and I own a 17 inch Apple G4 powerbook running Logic platinium 5.5 plus softsyths ,and together these guys blow me away, and all with one supplied USB cable,I am currently touring the USA doing a musical and so have left the expensive hardware at home but song writing on the road just became fun fun fun,Icannot think of a more compact powerful package on the market and believe me I have been looking for a long time.
Quality:
good solid construction
Value:
nothing else comes close at this price
Desirability:
I nearly brought an apogee mini me ...I would have kicked my self.
