I am a guitarist and singer who uses a synthesizer module that plays midi, MP3 and WAV files. It also has a built arranger with styles. I connect my M-Audio 25 key Oxygen to the module to provide accompaniment for guest singer. It is small and light weight and perfect for my use.

I'll admit I was a little worried this wouldn't work well with Fruity Loops but I just had to change the midi settings a bit and there was no latency issues at all. This product is great, especially for the price. The only thing is that you can't assign the knobs to anything in Fruity Loops...or you can and I haven't figured it out yet. Having this midi controller has made creating melodies and beats A LOT easier and less time consuming. I used to write out the music in Noteworthy Composer and then import the midi file for my melodies and whatnot but with the Oxygen I can just hit the record button and play so I get a more accurate representation of what I hear in my head. I think that for my needs 25 keys is plenty. Honestly I was worried it wouldn't be enough but you can also change the octave with the controller so it's perfect. One thing I didn't realize until I got it was that note velocity changes with how hard you press the key. This is a great product and I highly recommend it.

I've been playing music for about 20 years. I'm classically trained on the cello but I also play guitar, drums, piano & bass

As long as my son doesnt use it as a toy I think it'll last.
Sound
There is no sound... Its a MIDI controller. And its awesome!
Features
Direct link!!! AWESOME! but make sure its one of the seven or eight they have on their site. They have a file you download and install and it basically links the controller to the DAW flawlessly! Cubase, pro tools, Live, reason, and logic and i think a couple others too. Plus its got a preset scroll through mode! convenient!!! and a track up and down button. So you can almost construct a song completely without touching the PC or mac! Just cant do sequence editing from it. Maybe some day! LOL
Ease of Use
Simple, and yet full featured! and really lightweight.
Quality
Seems rugged. Haven't owned it for long so we'll see
Value
It had all the features i was looking for for a small portable controller. Very pleased!
Manufacturer Support
Didn't need it. A noob might need a little help but it doesnt need drivers installed. Class compliant! But Direct link software must be installed for it to link up seamless to your software. Works great with cubase 5!!! Love it!
The Wow Factor
Sex appeal? Ok, sure its got some nice curves and a nice bottom... Cmon, the pic says it all.
