Feature:
the controls seem to be more hype than good. i haven't heard a difference. low cut can be good if you want to emulate the sound of a cheaper smaller speaker.
Quality:
Very good contruction. Great voltage supply switch for moving musicians. I am in Germany but come from the USA , this idea was class, now I can move with my equipment as opposed to selling it.
Value:
I give this a seven only because zzounds has an incredible price on the m1 active alesis boxes.
Desirability:
Very sexy due to the small design and functionality. I am not hot on the studiophile writing on top or the m-audio logo, but those are things you have to live with
Sound:
What do you expect from a low priced, small speaker?? that answers your question. lows need boosting by an external eq. or else you won't notice them. the highs are clean and present.
Support:
not sure yet, but i am convinced that m-audio has good support
Overall:
Well, I bought this because I had no other option. In Germany things are far more expensive than in the USA. Space was an issue too. The monitors for about $100 more are much bigger, ie M1 active/ behringer truth. So if space is a concern these are right, without shelling out $1000 for a pair of genelec's. I haven't heard Behringer Truth yet, but I know and have mixed with the Alesis M1 active and they are a far better buy for the money, and at such a low price you cannot go wrong.
