I mounted one of these onto my snare drum and before I completed the third song it broke off. Metal on metal does not work in Live or recording situations on drums. I got a lot of ring from the mount of which was holding a new Sure tom mic. I have actually broken a snare drum's rim where the tuning rod runs through. Twisted it off. In my life time I have twisted which broke completely loose from the rim of a snare drum while playing.
