Feature:
excellent controls. One design flaw is that when using as monitors, the weight of the speaker sits on the power cord (right where it's connected to the speaker).
Quality:
The big problem is this: When using as MONITORS, there is poor air circulation around the heat sink, and I have had problems with thermal shutdown (which these are designed to do), but this is usually when I had them going fairly loud, with a lot of instrumentation going thru. I finally bought a small fan to place next to each one and that solves the problem. Never any problems when they are sitting upright or on poles.
They are very durable. I have the soft cases for mine but they have gotten a lot of use and still look great.
Value:
Only other ones I've tried are the JBL EON's, and the Mackies blow the JBL's away. But the JBL's are cheaper!
Sound:
I'v had mine for about 7 years. I use as mains for 4-5 piece rock band for smaller gigs in conjuction with one Mackie powered 15" sub. They sound really good. They are plenty loud for a small outdoor gig too.
Ease of Use:
Plug and Play. That's why I bought them.
Support:
Never needed repairs. Called Mackie once about connecting my board and they were very helpful. Good website with documentation.
Overall:
Really a fantastic sounding speaker. Too bad about the thermal shutdown, though.
