Mackie DLM12S 12" Powered Subwoofer (2000 Watts)

You won't believe the deep lows coming from this 47-pound subwoofer. Loaded with Mackie DSP presets, adjustable alignment delay and more, it's one smart sub.

I am a club dj who recently moved to a small town where no bars/bar-clubs have their own sound system. So far I have used these for 5 gigs(paired with 2 DLM 12 tops) and I must say for the size they sound amazing. Please note you will have to make adjustments on the internal gains (subs and tops) and the internal eq (on the top speakers) to get the optimum sound, but once you have them dialed in they sound as good if not better than a "pair" the Bose L1s with the L2 subs. *Also once you get them dialed in you can save all your settings as one of the default presets. As I said though right out of the box they may not sound phenomenal, but with all the options for "tweaking" the sound you can get them to sound amazing. The only issue I have had is running this system with the spm 300 poles (that go from the sub to the 12" tops). I kept getting knocking and odd vibration sounds when I would crank them up. After speaking with Mackie support and doing some tests I found that placing the subs right next to each other (which will typically give you roughly a 3db boost anyway) and then placing the dlm 12" tops on tripods it not only corrected the issue but made the system sound even more full. This as opposed to having one sub and one top on each side of my table. As with anything speaker placement is key. Will it thump as loud as a QSC setup with 18" subs...nope but it will be a lot cleaner sound and will easily do venues for about 150-200 people (once again 2 dlm 12s and 2 dlm 12 tops). Plus you wont have to break your back or need help setting this system up. My main car is a Mini Cooper S and this whole system my lights and everything else I need fit in it (tightly but hey it still fits).

The Sub is by Far sturdy. Very easy to Use and keeps it Simple, but that doesn't take away from it being a power house with Bass Production and Versatility. Ridiculously light weight, and Powerful!

Up front, I was immediately impressed by the depth of the bass on this little 12 inch sub. I own two DLM12 tops and run them with (2) 18” Cerwin Vega P-Series subs but when space is tight, the DLM12s subs will deliver. I got one as a back up and Im pretty sure i will buy a second one in the near future. Zzounds.com thank you for bringing these back into inventory. From the lineage as the SRM450 V1, the DLM series has returned to high quality and now with robust power. I would recommend these subs for small to medium weddings, bars and events with tight spaces.

I just checked out the Mackie DLM loudspeakers. They are way cool. Unique, compact design, tons of power and a built-in digital mixer. The DLM12 full-range speakers sound amazing with 2000 watts, plus you can run them with the DLM12S Subs for extended bottom-end. The DLM8s make great stage monitors OR you can use them as top boxes too. Get two of each and a DL1608 Digital Mixer for a totally killer PA - mains, wedges and wireless mixing... Awesome.
