This mixer is designed to run all night into brutally low impedances and sound clean even when driven hard. Mackie starts with a massive toroid transformer and 2 unusually large storage capacitors with 720 joules of energy storage capacity. In fact, the PPM power supply is so robust that it can run on as little as 80 volts at the end of a long, skinny extension cord during a brown-out. Then they add their Fast Recovery circuitry that reduces latching distortion so PPM Series mixers sound good even when driven well into clipping. Also included is an SCR crowbar circuit for speaker protection. Learn More...

10 out of 10Value:
I know several other pick-up bands that own the 808M and they all say the same thing, its a great mixer
Desirability:
The looks and design features are what a mixer should be.
Sound:
Have owned the 808M for 3-years, it has worked perfectly. Use it app
2-3 gigs a week, no problem. All kinds of power. Have a 5-piece country band, 4-mics, added 2 Mackie S15s for mains and already had 2-Peavey 15" monitors, dynamite sound. Have owned many other same class mixers, none compare. Tough as nails and great quality for the money. Mackie hit a home run with this mixer.
Support:
Never had a problem with mixer, but have called for technical info
and always got good support.
Overall:
I will keep this mixer as long as it holds out, and probably buy another.

10 out of 10Overall:
Phantom power is only +15VDC. Don't try and run your +48VDC phantom powered mics into this board. You will think that there is something wrong with you condenser mics! Mackie should make their phantom power on this and other powered boards +48V like their competitors!
