I did not think you could go wrong with a Ludwig kit. I smacked some Evans heads on em, and was very impressed with the tone of the shells. The throne that comes with the kit is not very good. Overall I'm really happy. Great kit for the $$

This is a great kit! Especially for the price! It came with everything needed to play right out of the box, it even included the sticks and throne. I put remo pinstripe heads on it and it sounds awesome! I bought this kit just as a cheap garage kit, but ended up upgrading the heads and cymbals and I gig it on the weekends. I am super excited about it and no longer regret giving up the kit I had before I moved. If you are leaning towards this kit, Buy it!!!

This is the first set of drums I have purchased for my 10 yrs old son. I wanted to make sure he would not grow out of a beginner set and I wanted to stick with a name brand. Of all the drum sets I looked at for beginners, juniors and adults, this set had the best quaility and price and was a set that he would wear out before he grew out of them. Ludwig provided everything we needed to get started including sticks and a throne. They also provide, on their website, a video demonstration on how to put the set together correctly. This was a good buy.
