"Very well designed amplifier"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

If you need a practice amp for the home or studio this is it. It is best for classic high gain sounds although it is very versatile supberb and useful feeatures . - the sound is very well controlled and the controls function real well to let you dial in. As small amps go Ive played many over the years and This "IS" Best little amp I ever played. I even emailed Laney to congradulate the engineers on designing this little beaut and they sent me a real autographed Iommi laney poster! Got to be good. As I said best amp I ever played and the value for money is truly great.

"Unlike any other amplifier I have tried."

I have owned several amps and this may be the most versatile of the lot. The looks and endorsee scream metal, but I'm a blues/classic rock player and have not found anything under $1,000 that approaches the sound and versatility of this amp. The dynamics and tone controls function as resonance and presence controls, respectively. The pre boost switch eliminates the need for a pedal during leads and the thing is built like a tank. Like most amps made in the far east, the tubes and speaker are where the manufacturer chose to save of cost(the tubes are Ruby, which are actually decent). These this can easily be replaced, though are not essential.

Recently purchased this from zzounds alongside a Lzzy Hale Explorer and an Ibanez Tube Screamer. This set up is great for my home studio. I love the heavy tones I am getting with this simple rig, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a low volume practice, or recording solution (The amp has excellent connectivity and built in speaker emulation for running straight into your DAW). Super cool metal Tony Iommi Cross insignia grill too.

I am blown away by this amp! It nails Iommi's sound on the new 13 album using a Dirty Fingers Pickup! It also is quite a good blues amp at lower gain settings. The 1 watt option is great for my bedroom practice, and the 15 watts is plenty for small to medium size gigs. I really can not believe this Amp is as cheap as it is! If anything every happened to it I would replace it ASAP. It is a huge part of my sound now.

Practicing never sounded more cool than playing through this amp! I got it cause I wanted something close to his tone without spending a fortune. I am happy to say that I am really glad that I bought it. This has a heck of a fat dark tone!
