Overall: This is an 80's "Shred" Tricked Out Pony !!! Killer Tone & Scream , Attention to Quality and Detail are Top Notch. I Expected a Good Guitar , But this thing Exceeded all of my Expectations !!! The Coil Tapping adds allot of extra Tonal versatility to this guitar allowing me to play and explore other types of music other than what you would expect from this Beast. "Irons Up"

Overall: Bought me a "the 84" black with red bullseye. In a word the guitar is a total badass! Maple is without doubt the king of tone hands down. Fabulous resonance and articulation along with a great neck, pickup and coil tap. Excellent price point makes affording all 3 "84" models a snap! I give it the Olympic Gold Medal! Kudos to Kramer and Gibson for keeping it real!

Overall: I have several 80s-era Kramers and checked out this '84 model. It is far better than one of the other Kramer models I bought last year. better quality and better sound. nice feel to the neck. very good sound if you are into 80s high gain rock. the push=pull pot wired for parallel in a nice option when you dial it down a bit you can get some nice PAF-ish tones, making the guitar more versatile than it looks. prior to buying, I did call Gibson (who owns the Kramer name) and they were quite thorough in answering my questions. much better than some. the guitar feels solid and I have no reason to worry about the quality. there are a lot of guitars out there priced for entry-level, but this is built much better than the price would suggest, especially considering that a new Kramer guitar similar to this in the 80s was going for over a thousand in 80s dollars. if there were any suggestions I could make to Gibson it would be to offer more colors, drop the cheesy bullseye graphics, and offer a case with the Kramer line of guitars. for anyone looking for an 80s-themed hot rod that really delivers, it's hard to go wrong especailly for this price.

Overall: first and foremost, dealing with zZounds has been a pleasure on this guitar. I've been buying Kramers since Kramer was Kramer, and before Gibson bought the name. owning or having owned nine real Kramers prior to Gibson, I think I can speak with a little bit of knowledge on the brand. while there was never an '84 model put out by Kramer, this is obviously Gibson's attempt to give a nod toward the guitar that Eddie was playing in the mid-80s. so no, this is not a classic Kramer Baretta. however... it feels great and plays great. it's nice it comes with a genuine Floyd Rose, as some of the Gibson versions of Kramers that are advertised with a Floyd are just a licensed version. and this is the Korean-made 1000 series Floyd, which meets the same standards as the German. so that's nice. the collar around the arm might need a little teflon tape if you like it to stay still, but that's fairly common these days. it also comes with a real Duncan JB, which was fairly stock on most real Kramers back in the day. the JB sounds great in this guitar. when jamming along to your typical 80s rock, it fits right in the pocket. it's advertised as a maple body, but I can't tell for certain what quality or grade, due to the paint. I know it is lighter than some of the solid maple ESPs I have. the maple neck is nice. a bit beefier than the classic Kramer profile, but far from being a chunky monkey. the droopy banana head isn't nearly as severe looking in person as it appears in photos. they do use a push/pull pot to put the pickup into parallel mode, which is nice for cleaner parts or to use when the volume control to get a bit more of a classic or even 70s rock sound without having to tweak the amp. Gibson puts a treble bleed modification in there, but I took it out since it wasn't something Kramer did and not applicable to my playing style. the body is comfortable and feels well-balanced for your typical shred stick. it doesn't have the Schaller strap locks that the classic Kramers had, but it's not like it's a big deal to swap them out. the setup out of the box was pretty much nailed. that action was great, the truss only needed a slight tweak and there was only one string that needed an intonation adjustment. sadly, there was a crack in the wood under the bridge. it ran from the trem post hole back to the trem cavity. there was also glue in the trem post hole, which indicated it was seen at the factory and still shipped. I called right away and it was obvious that Gibson's warranty process was going to be a huge hassle. but zZounds was totally hassle-free and a pleasure to work with on that process. real class act.

Overall: This guitar setup nicely and looks great. It has a nice chunky neck and feels great. The paint job, Jb duncan and floyde are very nice. I like how you can adjust the truss at the heal without having to take the guitar apart whatsoever. It has great fret access at the heel. Solid great playing and sounding instrument. I am very happy.
