Feature:
I REALLY wish they had a high frequency contour adjustment, a -1db would really help to reduce modern finished mixes to my liking. I will also need a source for replacement drivers as I purchased my monitors used and one was slightly damaged (dust cap marks, not punched in). Auto turn-on is nice, but just be aware that the first second or so of material will get cut off if you ever allow them to turn off whilst making adjustments.

Quality:
Solid as heck, and they're heavy too. I've wound them up good and loud without port chuffing (believe me, i can make ANY port chuff). The finish is dull-grey, not much to say about that. I wouldn't take these on the road, much too heavy. Do your portable tracking with a trustworthy set of headphones or some smaller (V4's?) active monitors and leave the beasts in the studio. A side note: I have a slight buzz coming out of one of my two monitors, this is NOT due to the input - it buzzes with nothing plugged into it. These were in store demo speakers so I'm not surprised, nor am I annoyed, it just is. I still give a 10 rating because new there most likely wouldn't have been any problem.

Value:
You'd kill to get the price I got for a pair... However, I believe they are a fair bargain for any project studio, especially now that there's a newer model (the VXT series). Get these buggers over M-audio BX series, and I promise that you won't regret it.

Desirability:
The rounded corners at least look nice. I find that the KRK monitors are BY FAR the easiest to find in any catalog, the neon yellow speaker cones are a dead giveaway every time! Kevlar is a good cone material, on top of the sound, I can brag to my friends that my speaker cones are made of the same stuff as bullet proof vests.

Sound:
Very flat. The 55hz cutoff is a compromise between good bass response and overall output. These things get as loud as necessary for any normal mixing task, and maintain their sonic signature up until just below the limiter threshold. They do not get 'harsh' but remain very present, which can be fatiguing on the ears after a little while at high volume. I'll be using a custom sub to cover 55hz down to 16hz for a true full range monitoring system. I tend to put a minus 1.5-2db wide smooth "presence reduction" filter in to bring them down a little. This is when mixing without a sub to fill in the lows. They LACK the crispness (distortion?) of a metal dome tweeter. I was able to hear an overly sharp top end (due to the use of an enhancer) better on metal domed tweeter monitors. The silk dome on these monitors really smoothed it out so it was much less noticeable.

Ease of Use:
They're monitors.. Plug in, engage limiters (for initial testing at least), turn on.

Support:
Left a message once, inquiring as to where I might find replacement drivers. I received no reply, I'll have to try again on this one.

Overall:
I won't be replacing these suckers ever, perhaps adding to them, but never replacing. I finally have a reliable reference for my mixes, which translates well because it sounds like my ear expects. This may not be true for everyone, you have to hear what you're buying before you buy!!!!!

Feature:
Kevlar woofers are very nice

Quality:
Well built..not made like a run of mill assembly line product..a lot of thought went into this. In addition having rounded corners and a decent heavy magnets in the system shows quality.

Value:
Value for money A++

Desirability:
Go side by side with the more expensive products and it holds it own.

Sound:
Extremely flat and you can hear the little nuances needed to mix with. The only thing is that the low end is a little tight and will need a sub to really hear low lows..but aside from that it is well worth the money

Support:
Never need them but the product is so wrapped up when shipped I doubt there will be a chance of product damage...unless from owner misuse.

Overall:
Only a 9 because of the lack of the lower spectrum which can be solved using a sub.
