I was very particular in my search for a MIDI controller, and this fit all the bill. I decided to splurge and go with the Triton version, because having a sound engine onboard means that if necessary, I won't have to tote a laptop around just to have a practice or jam sesh. They are good quality sounds regardless of whether you can edit them or not. Regardless, for a MIDI controller this works excellent. It's 8 pounds (So don't slam it on the ground or anything, it's made of light plastic) so it's easy to carry around places. Paired with my light laptop, makes for an easy rig. Can be powered by either a USB cable or separate DC adaptor, and both are extremely convenient. I also like the functionality of being MIDI operable by MIDI cable or the USB cable. The knobs and sliders are pretty light, so don't go super-strength-twist on them, but thus far, it is doing everything I want it to. It has extreme programmability for individual keys, pads, knobs and stuff. The only tiny drawback is that the audio out jack is 1/8 inch, not 1/4 inch. If you get the non-Triton version, not a big deal. But if you plan on using the audio engine onboard the keyboard, you'll have to carry around a flimsy adaptor. Other than those tiny details, this thing is built for work. I use it with Cantabile and am incredibly happy.

Built in sounds are great and the chord controls make them wonderful. I needed a controller and still learning how to set it up. Use is mainly for vst instruments. Kaos style pad is fun to use and same sounds used on chord pads sound different so the amount of sounds you can create is endless. Would like a more detailed manual since it is my first controller but dealing with it. I have been using a Korg Mikro so having full size keys now is also a plus.

Programmed sounds were great but as a control for D A W it feel short. I purchased the board at a reduced price (return) and just couldn't get it to link to my software. Tried with Reason, Personis, and the included Cubase. After almost a week of frustration I sent it back. NOTE: There was no questioning the return and I am fully satisfied with zZounds. I will continue to order from them based on the return experience .
