Sound: Unbelievably thick sounds out of this little box. The only drawback is a bit of headphone amp noise when routed through proper sound gear. Feature: Not a lot a features per se. But that's its charm. Ease of Use: Twiddle a couple of knobs and you're going from deep bass drums to screeching ray guns to synth arps. Quality: Seems a bit toyish, but that's its appeal. And like a toy, it's hard to put down. Value: Holy carp I can't believe how cheap this is. This probably has the highest fun-to-price ratio of any piece of gear in my studio. Overall: Don't let the little sound from the built-in speaker fool you. And don't let the abundance of screechy sound effect demos fool you either— it can be very musical in the right hands, from techno-style bass lines to Keith Emerson portamento-type leads.

Sound: This synth needs to be plugged in to a headphone or other external speaker to get an excellent sound quality. The internal speaker is only OK. Feature: I have not had a chance to use the external audio input yet. I imagine that a bass or keyboard or anything played with a single note should sound great. Ease of Use: Very easy to run - just press or swipe on the ribbon keyboard and tweak until you find "The Sound" you are looking for. Quality: Mostly made of plastic, and it's a lot smaller than I had imagined. Value: Very nice price with the 20$ rebate (which I am still waiting for, although it has only been a couple weeks). Manufacturer Support: Have not needed any support with this instrument. Overall: I can play with this for a long time. If I get another synth, it will cost about ten times as much.

Overall: Not a full size synth by any means but a fun noise maker. The simple design limits the kinds of sounds available but the immediacy of the five knobs means sculpting sounds is fairly quick. The ribbon keyboard is delightfully retro. Out of the box I found it hard to see the notches on the knobs but a little paint fixed that up nicely. A fun thing to take to parties.
