"A Workstation for the Ages. (but be careful about the touch screen)"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Korg's new Kronos line does not have the pad. No synth has pads integrated with KARMA. I will never give this synth up.
Sound
EXB piano is great. The Korg combos are mostly good or great. I love the organs. There are so many sounds on this thing, It would take too much time to go into detail. I wouldn't call any sound bank weak. It all depends on what you wat. I like the orchestral combis a lot.
Features
2 features make this synth stand out. KARMA gen 2.0 and the pads. Added up, this synth is a composer's dream come true.
Ease of Use
This is not as easy to use as it should be. KARMA is easy. The pads are easy. But there are too many hidden menus inside the touch screen.
Quality
Many people, including myself have had trouble with the touch screen. Be careful here. Test the unit you buy carefully or get a warranty. This problem is serious because so much of the synth's operation requires the touch screen. The good news is you can do a lot just with the manual controls, which are solid. But you can't do basic operations like sampling, editing, sequencing or even saving without using the touch screen. And there are a lot of touch screen problems with this unit.
Value
Because of the pads, KARMA and the quality of the sounds, this synth is for all time. Just be careful with the touch screen. Korg should make an iPad controller app for this synth because there have been so many users with touch screen problems.
Manufacturer Support
I live far away from any dealer. I've never used support despite the touch screen problems.
The Wow Factor
The M3M has made my music a lot more polished and professional.
