This is my 2nd King Korg Synthesizer. I had the gold case model but unfortunately all my gear was stolen and I had to start over. So I ordered the KK in black. Having owned one before the choices I had were quite vast but I really love the Korg keyboards. Again the people at zZounds are AWESOME with the play as you pay program. As per my last review of the King Korg, this is a killer little synth that packs a LOT into a small 61 key unit. I highly recommend KORG keyboards!!!! Thanks zZounds!!!!!!!

This is my Favorite Synth from Korg.
Sound
I can achieve almost any sounding synth out there. Some sounds are PCM samples and those sounds great!
Features
The most coolest part about this KingKorg is the effects layout. Very much inspired effects from Boss-like pedals. The effects are very genuine and play a big roll with any synth patch that you create. I also appreciate the free sound library from the Korg website that has all the 1980's era sounds. The only disappointment I would have is the internal memory, it can only store 300 patches so make them count.
Ease of Use
Ready to play synth. Lots of fun presets. Ready to be tweaked to desired sounds. Very juicy basses, Roland Juno sounds and so much more!
Quality
Best built synth at this price range. Top panel is metal, heavy duty plastic bottom frame. Metal jacks on back for connection with pro cables. Designed for the concert stage!
Value
This synth is way better than the Korg Kross 2, I sold that to buy the KingKORG.
Manufacturer Support
Never dealt with Korg, no need to.
The Wow Factor
I bought this synth because of it's capabilities. I wanted a synth that could sound like my other brands of synthesizers, and the KingKorg can do so many recreations of all analog gear.

Just ordered the King Korg Synthesizer from Zzounds. Got it delivered to my door in three days! As always grest service from the guys and gals at Zzounds. Now for the review. This little synthesizer is well deserving of the name KING!! With fat lead patches and Deep Sounding oscillators and easy user interface, you get the new technology of todays synths with the old style knob controls of yesterdays synths. I am still discovering ways to shape sounds and layer the various capabilities of this keyboard. The vacuum tube is an awesome enhancement that I will be using when I perform live. Korg has nailed it on this keyboard. Along with the Krome 88 I bought a couple months back, I can say now I have a killer setup. Thanks Korg and thanks Zzounds for the awesome deals you offer musicians. Rock On!!!!!

So, I initially was a little disappointed, but after sitting with this synth for a few months, I've come to rely on it heavily...I bought it to replace a Roland SH201, should have kept it as well, but it has become my go to synth live.

I ended up returning this keyboard. The KingKorg's primary focus is on it's filters. The vacuum tube is pretty neat, but I found it didn't really add much to the sounds I was using.I was interested in the PCM sounds, but there were only a few good ones. I'm sure for PCM sampled pianos (Rhodes, Wurli, etc..) one would be better off buying the SV-1 stage keyboard. The last thing that was a deal-breaker for me was that the built in sounds were pretty lame. I remember watching the demo video and they all kept playing the same songs with them. I'm sure if you messed around with it, you could create some new sounds by mixing waveforms together, but I just felt that the complexity of the sound editing engine detracted from trying to dig in and make new sounds.I think that this keyboard is decent, but not good enough for what it costs. If you were to pick it up second hand for $400-600, maybe it'd be a little bit more of a value. If you want an analog synthesizer, you can definitely pick up a few good ones for what this costs. You could get an MS-20 mini, Microbrute, and possibly even a Moog.

Musical Background:

Mostly DAW, working on integrating analog into the setup.
