I have given it an 8, obviously I would have liked it to be cheaper, who wouldn't, but I would say it's value for money.

Desirability:
It's just a circuit board to look at lol

Sound:
I would say that this is without doubt an essential add on for the Triton. It has a warmth that the un expanded Triton lacks, and is very versatile. It excells for pad sounds, and is a killer when it comes to deep, warm, bass.

Overall:
I will use it for life, no doubt about it.

If you add it to the Triton or Karma you will be pleased with the new world of musical possibilities that will open up to you. It is a good example of sonic viagra!

Sound:
It is one of the best sounding analog/physical model units available. It competes strong against a real analog beast (e.g., Moog, Arp, Oberheim, Andromeda, etc.). Some have said that it does not sound as good as the Z1 but I disagree. I loaded it into my Korg KARMA and it is now a whole new instrument! With KARMA I can get sounds I could never get with the Z1. The only bummer is your limited to 6 voices.

Style of Music: Film score, orchestral, ambient, and abstract synthesis

The variety of synthesis models available is excellent. The analog model alone offers features not found on most synths available. It makes synthesis exciting again. ..and you can incorporate elements of analog with other forms of synthesis as well and fuse them into new *types* of synthesis.

A friend of mine did some homework. I am looking to get the Triton and a Moss board. My friend owns a z1. Ideally we wanted to swap patches between the MOSS and Z1, but it was confirmed from Korg that this is not possible.

Of course this came after some:

Korg - "uh should work" and

Korg - "just transer it using the floppy drive"
Friend - "Z1 doesn't have a floppy"
Korg - "Hold on" time passes "No it doesn't work"

I was dissapointed by Korg's poor planning for this issue.. it's not like this is 3rd party stuff we are talking cross communication between Korg products, but i digress... hope this helps someone
