Feature:
Comes with many, many presets of sounds, but, best of all, you can make your own! Just find a preset, tweak the knobs, and find the sound you were looking for. You can also just mess around with the thing if you dont know what you're doing, and still get a great sound.

Quality:
My friend has had this thing for a LONG, LONG time, and it still sounds like he had just bought it. Looks the same, too, with not a ding or scratch on it. I once dropped it on a hardwood floor, and suddenly felt a wave of horror within me. But I picked it up, and it looked and worked exactly the same. Very durable.

Value:
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT assume the POD Line 6 is better than the J-Station just because the POD is twice the price. The POD has a very thin, nasaly sound to it. The POD may have more amp models, but with the J-Station, you can download more amp models online!!

Desirability:
I have wanted this baby FOREVER, and I finally ordered it yesterday. Has a great, sleek design, is very lightweight, and packs quite a punch. Get this if you're on a tight budget, but still want high-quality amp model sounds. Trust me, $150 is nowhere near as much as you would pay for just one of the many amp models on the J-Station. In fact, the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (One of the great amps on the J-Station) alone is sometimes over $1600!!

Sound:
The sound is awesome. Unless you have one of the amp models that are on the J-Station, and compare both of their sounds for 3 hours straight, then you wouldn't even recognize the difference.

Support:
They have a phone number and website for customer support, though I've never used them. But I guess Johnson would be very helpful, in case something happens.

Overall:
I'll probably never buy anything else now that I'm getting the J-Station. Until Johnson creates another, more improved J-Station, with even better sound quality and more amp models and effects, I'll stick with this baby.

I use this for live and practice...I have the gig bag and J-8 pedal board as well. I only wish that Johnson made this unit in a rackmountable model with an attached ac power cord...difficult to place in live situations and I always fear that the wall wart ac adapter is going to come loose. The acoustic sound modeling is weak but compares to the acoustic piezo bridges currently on the market for the 200-500$ range...Other than that the sound possibilities and ease of use, and web library are incredible and versatile...if you don't like/ need amp modeling (you can bypass amp and cabinet modeling with no coloration to your sound) it remains a steal for the effects alone ie. digital reverb /delay/chorus/phase/flanger/auto wah/compression/pitch shift/etc. Their parameters can be tweaked considerably for endlesss possibilities...you'll spend much more than 150 bucks to obtain that many effects...you would have to jump to some high end processors such as t.c. electronics to compare...

Feature:
It has just about every non-gimicky sound a serious guitarist could want. The patch editing software included (J-Edit), is the best and easiest you will find for any of the modelers on the market. It looks like an actual rack of components on your computer screen...the buttons and knobs fully tweakable. Has a "Tap-it" button for full control over tremolo, delay, etc. The guitar tuner is pretty good (a lot better than some of the reviews I've read).

Quality:
metal chasis, solid knobs/buttons, screwed-on jacks...once again, they don't come any higher quality than this.

Value:
I would give it a much, much higher rating if I could. Genesis3 or POD cost at least twice as much...for the same thing with a few gimicks thrown in?

Desirability:
extremely good looking/sleek unit, but form definitely follows function here.

Sound:
It sounds great, but I must admit that I'm just a home player/recorder and haven't played through many real amps. I have, however, played through a few amp modelers (Korg PX4, POD, and J-station) and they all sound fairly similar...except that the PX4 was extremely and irrepairably noisy on distortions.

Support:
considering the company recently went out of business, the support is surprisingly good. They still have a very informative website and their forums still have at least one moderator who occasionally answers questions. Phone support?...probably not.

Overall:
I don't think I'll need anything else after this product.

I read all of the glowing reviews on the J-Station and I went out and bought it.

The glowing reviews have basis in actual FACT. This is a dynamite unit, and it would hard to see how any recording guitarist could not benefit from its ownership and use.

Great selection of amp models, extensive sound tailoring to suit your style, and features that greatly transcend its economy price point.

Get a J-Station. You won't regret it.

It can do everything you can think of if you wade through the instructions and play with it for a while. I've used it on two CD's
going straight to the board. I also use it in front of a Hot Rod Deluxe with great results.

The amp models are perfect! Even the lightly distorted models like the Twin Reverb have that smooth warm tube quality! AWESOME! The effects are unbeliveable too. Want spring reverb? What size and how many springs? Want a leslie effect, pitch shifter and anything else you ever wanted to buy? You get a studio quality version of it. Stop reading! Go buy one!

I play music that ranges from the avant garde throught o jazz and rock. i regularly use it for session work and have been totally impressed by its versatility and the amazing quality of sounds available.
This thing beats pod hands down. I have recorded with both. The pod has a more nasal sound. Get a j station now!!

I get all these sweet amps and cabinets in my cramped apartment. My wife and neighbors appreciate me not cranking my amp up to 10 and miking for good tones. Pod is good, but I think J-Station is better. Check out the Rectifier and Black Face. Ooohhhh yeah!!

I have used the J-station in the studio for a couple of backing tracks. I normally use the Johnson Millenium but it was easier to set this puppy up quickly. I have also performed one concert with the j-station and I was very impressed with the quality of the sound in the mix.
