The JBL LSR4312SP works well for a small studio set-up.
Sound
Great sound! Sub goes deeper than I expected...smooth extention to lowest frequencies for mastering tracks.
Features
Good features...however, user's should purchase the entire JBL system for best results. I'm using the sub as a "stand-alone" with other monitors, so I can't take advantage of the networking and calibration functions.
Ease of Use
Very easy to set-up. Multiple input capabilities to include option to select between -10 and +4 operating levels.
Quality
Great build quality...heavy unit. Wouldn't recommend using this as a "mobile" unit...no speaker grill.
Value
A little pricey...but, you get what you pay for.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't used support...but JBL has a very comprehensive website.
The Wow Factor
Unit may not be "aesthetically pleasing" but, it's a very practical and will provide an accurate assessment of lower frequencies for mastering tracks.

After working with the JBL LSR4312SP Active Studio Subwoofer for some weeks I now can give an opinion, I first had to get used to the programming scheme which involved learning the digital front panel led position's this is where you set your crossover point and what your input sensitivity would function at -10 or +4 once set, You will find it to be the missing link to your setup,It performed just as great as some of the higher end boutique sub's that I been looking at I experienced a tight and solid low end with head room to spare thanks to the 450w amp inside I would definitely recommend this to any home recording or professional looking to augment their favorite speakers for extended low end monitoring,
