My wife bought this for my bday... thanks hun!! Its really my favorite guitar now. I love everything about it. It makes playing so much easier and the sound is excellent. I am finishing up my 5 album and I used it to record an acoustic part for one song. Seriously, play it clean and it sounds like a top dollar acoustic....
Sound
I own 18 guitars; 72 telecaster, high end strat, 335... this guitar is tops. The pickups are really diverse. The bridge is bright and the neck is beefy and jazzy. I can get nasty od and clean mellow acoustic tones out of this.
Features
The bridge is like something out of a sci-fi movie. I have a Kahler on one of my guitars but this is the best I have seen. Just changed strings and it was really easy (one at a time!!!!) It responds well to adjustments. Everything on this guitar is top dollar.
Ease of Use
Cant stop playing it. It is really smooth. The big frets are so easy to play and the neck is fast and smooth.
Quality
Thank you Ibanez for not making junk!! This guitar is how other guitars should be made.
Value
I played my friends $3300 PRS and my Ibanez is by far superior...
Manufacturer Support
Havent had to call anyone???
The Wow Factor
Cant keep my hands off it.... I havent touched any of my other guitars since I got it... not saying I wont but this thing is really hot..

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I own Epi Sheratons, a Les Paul and a couple solid body Schecter guitars. I am especially partial to the warm tones of my Sheratons, but this Ibanez may be the most complete guitar a person can own in the price range. It can provide an incredible array of tones from rough and tumble to smooth, clean sounding jazz...really! The body is unbelievably light and form fitting. Feo Fender would have admired the user friendly nature of the body. The quilt finish is the touch that makes you not believe that this guitar is not at least $1,000! It is beautiful! The tremolo system is new to me, but with a little time it is easily understood and manageable. I had a guitar tech help me mentally grasp its' mechanical qualities and he marvelled at how well designed the Ibanez system is. I marvel at how well the strings stay tuned when you have locked in the tuning. I am wanting to order in the bright blue because I am a weak, weak man.

"Love at first strum..."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I would defenately rebuy this guitar if it got stolen. I do plan on purchasing its 7-string cousin though.
Sound
This thing is SICK!! Usualy when one buys a guitar the first thing to be moded is the pick-ups. On the contrary, this guitar is crystal clear on cleans and razor sharp on leads not to mention, you can really notice a diffirence when you shift between pick-ups. I play through a line6 spider 3 75watt and they practically compliment each other.
Features
The best feature by far is the thin design. The input jack is also a great innovation. The finish is top notch and the ZR tremolo is the bee's knees. The neck radius is very quick. The inlays are a sweet touch to the cosmetics as well.
Ease of Use
If you've piddled with a floyd there isn't a learning curve. The sound is top notch and the pickups are ultra crisp at the bridge super bassy at the neck (depending on where the tone is set to)
Quality
Overall build is exelent. The finish is a little darker the the picture depicts. I would gig with this guitar without a back up. The only time I would use a back up is if I needed a diffirent tuning. There are no bad aspects to this guitar. I expect this guitar to be burried with me if that explains how long I expect it to last...
Value
This guitar is worth at least double what I paid for it but Ibanez and ZZounds.com are awesome and they work to get the best deals and quality for the average person.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to deal with Ibanez personaly with any problem. However, after this guitar I am strictly Ibanez now because they are like the toyota of guitars. On the other hand, ZZounds.com's support team is exelent!
The Wow Factor
Its smexy all over!! I wouldn't have any other guitar. (Other than its 7-string cousin)

"Return to Ibanez"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I am happy I made this purchase. An overall great guitar for any level of player. The thumb adjustment on the back for the tremelo system is one of the nicest feature I have seen on a guitar in a long time. While the ball bearing system isn't new (Washburn Wonderbar had this), it has a great feel to it. The tone quality is outstanding. Removing the lock bar from the back of the tremelo makes it even easier to use and get get sounds with. I would certainly recommend this guitar to anyone.
Sound
I love it. This is one of the first guitars I have owned that you can actually hear a big difference in tone with the selector switch. The neck is smooth and clean. Pinch harmonics are a snap with this guitar, even with finger picking.
Features
I love the trem system on this guitar. Very smooth and easy to adjust. makes playing fun again.
Ease of Use
Great sounds with little effort. And that is right out of the box.
Quality
Love the look and feel of this guitar. Been wanting to get another Ibanez since I let my Phil Colleen Destroyer II go years ago and I am so glad I found this one. The blue is so eye catching, and the slim body and lite weight make it fit your body well. Even though it has been years since I played an Ibanez, the feel is still familiar to me. Great products throughout the years.
Value
Used the price guarantee and saved another $100. Well worth the original proce though.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had to use the support, but I have heard that it is really good.
The Wow Factor
A truly beautiful guitar that is sweet to play. Certainly has the sex appeal going.

"Nice guitar, but poor factory assembly and setup"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I have always had good experiences ordering from zZounds and this guitar (Ibanez s570dxqm) arrived very quickly. However, the Ibanez Indonesian factory setup was very poor. Luckily I know how to work on guitars, otherwise this would have been returned. Out of the box, after tuning up: Very high action (slightly over 3.5mm at 14th fret), not intonated. Checked the level of the frets quickly with a StewMac fret rocker; the frets were not even close to level. Removed the strings to level the frets and noticed that all of the tuning pegs were loose. Took a closer look at where the neck meets the body and there was a noticeable gap. Removed the neck to find wood chips and an inspection sticker placed over globs of paint preventing neck from seating properly. The body itself was finished nicely, the neck also appears well made and the pickups and hardware were of the quality that I expected. It just seems that the cleanup work required prior to assembly, the assembly itself and the inspection for quality control were botched. After correcting the problems I found, the guitar plays fairly nice with the action at about 2mm at the 14th fret. Also, the guitar would not intonate with the factory strings, I assume these were 9's. After re-stringing with 10's it is much better with only the b and high e slightly out.

"Ibanez S570DXQM Electric Guitar (Blemished, Bright Blue Burst) from ZZZounds. "

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

It'll be fine. If I need a strat or les paul sound I can find somebody to play those guitars. I'm not emotionally invested in it like I am with my basses. I'll never need to play it at a gig. It's just for fun, working up some solos, playing in while watching TV, and cranking it to howl when the wife isn't home. I wish they had buffed out the back of the neck, but it'll be a quick job. I might mess around with the pickups to get a few in between setting sounds. Like I said its kid bait. Not a present that comes with the "you need to practice" stuff. Just something to explore. I'll show him how to run the looper and delay boxes and the drum machine. Then tell him not to mess with it. He'll probably be the next Adrian Belew, he sure likes the whammy bar and the looper. I need something that makes feedback happen. I'll probably need to come up with a wah pedal, a couple dirt boxes to go with the loopers and delays I already have. We're finishing a room in the basement for music stuff. The MAC, firepod interface and other midi gear. Enough room for drums and recording a small band. Synths, drum machines. A man cave.
Sound
I'm a bass player, that likes to make howling noises on the guitar. It's not a Strat, its not a Les Paul, its a metal shredding Ibanez. I bought as "kid bait" to leave laying around the living room, and see if my 13 year old son takes an interest. I told him not to mess with it, so he'll probably be shredding in a few months. He likes the buzzy bright sounding pop punk stuff of the '90's, so this will do it. It has a nice range of tones through the pickup selection and tone control. I'm playing it through a 50 watt Marshall 1-12 combo, and I could use some dirt boxes, but I could see a Tube screamer or Voodoo sparkle drive doing what I need. It plays really nice. I like a more radiused fingerboard and this is pretty flat. Jumbo frets make in super slinky to play. The wammy bar works great, it's basically an improved Floyd Rose style locking tremolo. They claim it will stay in tune with a broken string, but I haven't tested that yet. I haven't had a chance to record it yet.
Features
It came with a set of allen wrenches, which was cool, I could adjust the nut with out searching for tools. Came with a cheap cord and some just okay instructions. I haven't figured out how to change the strings yet, but I shouldn't be too hard. The guitar has a quilted maple top and matching head stock, bound neck with rosewood fretboard and nice fret marker inlays. Very modern looking. The fit and finish are good, the color is more purple than electric blue, but I'm cool with it. The back of the neck feels like it has some over spray on it, a little 400 grit and some polish will make it glossy smooth. I play Dingwall basses, so my perceptions are a little skewed towards boutique level finishes. For a mid priced, even low priced guitar, $550, off a production line, I'm happy with it.
Ease of Use
Its a guitar, it plays pretty well. A little buzz on the lowest F, but the neck looks good and plays nice and in tune from nut to fret 24. The manual could be more detailed on how to change the strings with this tremolo system. It can't be that hard, if guitar players can do it, I can figure it out.
Quality
I mentioned the overspray feel on the back of the neck. I haven't opened it up to look at the wiring. It looks like it should be fine, but I won't be putting tons of hours on it. I bought to have a real guitar the kid can use. If it can survive the kids, dogs and cats, and house hold disorder, it'll be great.
Value
Great value.
Manufacturer Support
Zzzounds rocks! They offer great deals on returns, scratch and dent, discontinued items. They have a generous return policy. When I emailed to inquire about a backordered case for the guitar, I had a reply with two hours. They ship free and have an excellent tracking system.
The Wow Factor
It was a practical guitar first and foremost, pickup selection, tremolo bridge, price. It turns out to be a good looking guitar, if you happen to be a shredder, nice quilted top. It has a sleek modern look and feel without getting stupidly pointy. It retains the traditional strat like body style, but is a racier more metal look. It seems tiny to me, but I'm used to a very long scale 6 string bass. Nice fit and finish, nice hardware. The jumbo fets and flat fingerboard make playing easy. My wife oohed and said, "Wow, its' really pretty!" So there ya go, its cougar approved! More purple than the bright blue in the pictures, but still nice looking. Good figure on the quilted top and headstock. The kid was intrigued right off the bat. I told him not to mess with it. a nice mix of techno and traditional.
