"Fantastic 8-string"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This will easily be one of the top guitars in my collection for years. I play Bass and Guitar, with this I can get a lot of the Bass I need and rythm, lead guitar also.
Sound
The EMG pickups do a fantastic job, very hot and conver the full range of all 8 strings very well
Features
Other than the 8 strings and the Active EMG pickups, not really much additional. Does have locking nut, but not really needed without a tremelo bridge. Comes with the really nice RG case.
Ease of Use
It is best to go from a 7-string to the 8-string. I was able to take advantage of the 8th string within a few minutes. Plays very smooth.
Quality
I was very impressed with the quality. I have not held a Japanese made instrument in years. The quality is better than a lot of the American made instruments. It came out of the box setup and ready to play (other than tuning).
Value
For the great quality and the fact there are only two companies that are mass producing 8-strings, it is a very good value. I have guitars I have paid twice as much for that are no where near the quality.
The Wow Factor
Must have for the serious guitarist.

Buy It, 8 strings, wooo!
Sound
Amazing sound quality, with other instruments or on it's own, 8 Strings is awesome.
Features
8 strings, do you need more?
Ease of Use
Easy if you know how to use a 7-string guitar, but not one to start off with.
Quality
It's almost indestructable, mine goes through a lot and still looks new.
Value
It is a lot of money, but worth it.
The Wow Factor
If this was taken away from me, i would spend ages searching for it.

"THE RG2228 PRESTIGE IS THE BOMB!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
once i own it I will NEVER look anywhere EVER for another guitar AGAIN. i think i have found the best guitar on the PLANET. this ticks all the boxes, Id deffinitely replace it without a doubt. I wouldnt DARE put this down or sell it, its THE BOMB!! only thing is a trem would be cool and its out of my budget. but i would recommend it to metalheads everywhere begginer or pro. get yours NOW!
Sound
being an Ibanez fan, these emg pickups were steamy when i started doing some HEAVY riffing. the best pickups ive ever heard. the 8th string was great for palm muting, i wanted it to do sound similar to metal bands such as lamb of god, fear factory, divine heresy and thats what it did. the clean was cool but i only used it for a short time. i got MEGA brutal . ive never heard better from a guitar in my life
Features
the neck actually fitted my big hands like a jigsaw, perfectly compared to 6 strings, i thought the locking nut was great and the 8 strings, i loved everything about it.
Ease of Use
the neck was very thin and suprisingly flat and the action was SO LOW!! no fingering high action strings honestly, any lower and the strings would be IN the neck, i dont know how they do it but ibanez have some serious genius, and it shows in everything they make. the easiest i have ever played
Quality
i was so impressed, the whole guitar was made to such a high level, i do see the reason behind the price tag. this thing was A MONSTER. i swear I could take this axe into a full out mosh pit and it would still shine in all its glory. very high quality.
Value
you'll get what you pay for it. but i just wish i had it.

"Amazing guitar!!!!!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This guitar overall is great not so much for beginners but for guitarists looking for a challenge. It looks and sounds awesome, and is suitable for any genre of music. 8 strings.....WHAT ELSE COULD YOU WANT!!!!!!!!
Sound
This guitar can stand out in almost any style of music. The emg pickups sound awesome and capture the sound of each string. Because the pickups are active there is a little bit of feedback, but nothing to worry about because you cant hear it when playing.
Features
The 8 string beast came with a beautiful hardshell case. The locking tremelo is awesome and will keep the guitar in tune for days, even with the most brutal riffs. This guitar also is not to heavy for it's size. Playability is excellent and the electronics along with the pickups as i said sound awesome.
Ease of Use
This guitar makes it easy to transfer from even a 6 string model. Although i went from a 6 string to the 8 string, i would suggest that you play a 7 string first to get a feel for the extra strings.
Quality
The guitar came ready to play. There were no adjustments that i had to make. This guitar would also stand tall on the road. You could throw this guitar at a brick wall and it would still keep it's tone.
Value
Not many companies produce 8 strings, but the value for this one in my opinion is excellent. although you would expect a floyd rose for the price, this guitar keeps its tuning. (This guitar will not go out of tune!)
Manufacturer Support
Never worked with them.
The Wow Factor
After i played this guitar at my local dealer i had to have it.

"8 strings. Enough said."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Lot of money to put into a guitar, but i say that it's worth it.
Sound
8 strings!!!! EMG pickups!!!! this guitar is serious.
Features
no floyd rose for $1500???? other than that its the bomb. One of the main features is the amazing pickups and the fact that there is eight strings on it.
Ease of Use
If you are switching from 7 to 8 strings, it ain't to bad. I don't know if you are gonna try and switch from 6 to 7, that might be tough. EMG pickups allow you to get some really great sound.
Quality
Sturdy as they get. You could drop it on the floor a dozen times and it will still be in good shape. I don't have a scratch on it.
Value
It's a lot of money, but it's also 8 strings. possibilities are endless. Wish it had some sort of trem
Manufacturer Support
Never used it.
The Wow Factor
8 strings. seriously.
