The most demanded affordable axe in Ibanez' history, the GAX70, was made for music now, not music then. The crystal cut, double cutaway body is crafted of agathis, a wood similar in look to mahogany, but more similar in tone alder. Learn More...

10 out of 10Feature:
It came with a soft case, but otherwise nothing.
Quality:
I have had two problems. First, the tone dial for the neck pickups is a little weird and it seems like it came off of its track or something, and it raddles, but it still works. Secondly, the wires that connect the pickups and everything the the last piece in the guitar before the chord got disconnected. There is like a little piece of metal that the chord touches when it is plugged in and one of the two wires (positive and negative wires Im guessing) came undone despite the fact that it was soddered when it was made. Nothing you can't fix in 10 minutes with a steady hand and some wire, but it was still a pain in the butt. I have had it for 4 years now.
Value:
If you slapped a Gibson or PRS sticker on it, I could still tell that this is a Ibanez because it is so much easier to play than the Les Paul, and its neck and fretwork are superior in quality.
Desirability:
I have it in a transparent red with a wood grain and it lookes great. The shape is a little like an SG.
Sound:
Great sound. I use a Line6 Spider III HD150 head and a Behringer cab. This sound definately rivals that of my Les Paul. It has great middle and is not as fat as a Les Paul but it has a clear, sharp sound with very hot pickups.
Ease of Use:
The frets are a little smaller than on most guitars and it has a very thin neck. This is a great soloing guitar or a guitar for a beginner. I regularly play this. It fits well and it is very light.
Support:
I called up some support number, and the problem with the disconnected wire was the first thing they suspected when I told them the symptoms (no output from the guitar, just a hazy static sound that would look like that static that comes on your tv when you disconnect a wire and this black and white static crap comes on). They told me what to do and I did it over the phone. Piece of cake.
Overall:
Just a great guitar for a beginner or for studio recording by any pro.
