This is a wonderful instument. If you are a fan of Led Zeppelin, the piezo pickups will mimick JPJ's sound perfectly. My favorite song to play is Dazed and Confused, and it sounds GREAT. The different pickups give you more versatility than with a magnetics-only instument. Buy it!

Quality:
Perfect finish, very durable from a lto of knocks. Unfortunately a couple of times the wires inside where the jack is have come off a few times. A small solder job but still not great.

Desirability:
It is very different and attracts admirers, great looking and interesting. Drummers seem to like it for some reason.

Sound:
The blending options with the pickups really let me achieve whatever sound I'm looking for. Combined with a decent amp, very versatile.

Ease of Use:
Incredibly easy to use. I've tried a lot of basses to buy one to go with this but not a single one of the traditional basses have had anything superior to this. Tried things like P bass, Jazz bass, Thunderbird etc.

Support:
No experience.

Feature:
no excessive crap. magnetic volume, piezo volume, magnetic tone, pieze treble boost/cut. EXACTLY how i like it. few people know about the adjustable blend controls accessible via the control cavity cover.

Quality:
i noticed one of the pots seemed to be a tad too easy to turn relative to the others, but whatever. it worked fine. build quality seemed bulletproof.

Value:
i can't believe how well priced this bass is. unbelieveable value. if you want to talk about bang for the buck, this thing is loaded with black powder.

Desirability:
whenever i play this thing, i get people staring at me, walking up to me, and i seem to be getting a lot of attention from girls.... i think it looks amazing. i love the sparkly silver finish, though i wish Ibanez sold the eda900 with the Jewel Blue finish found in Europe and Asia. it kicks ass on all fronts, visual and functional

Sound:
bright, punchy and variably growly sound. it just LOVED being picked. very versatile and did exactly what i wanted it to.

Support:
haven't dealth with Ibanez.

Overall:
i think this thing will be my friend for life...once i go out and buy one of my own. i gotta stop borrowing things from people...

the fretless version of it is great.
with a medium to high action, it sounds a little
like a double (upright) bass - add a BP8 fretless
effect without touching the action, and you have
a trombone like fretless bass.
The piezo, magnetic transducer + BP8 makes this bass
an amazing instrument that covers a lot of style

This thing is insane.

Sound:
This amp has immense low end, it is simply incredible.

Support:
Don't know but I'll find out when I buy one.

Overall:
Look guys, if you have a few Franklin's burning a hole in your pocket, don't go buy a rickenbacker or a hofner. This is the cutting edge, this is the future of electric bass.

This bass screams for funk work. It's good for some jazz, decent for rock/blues, not so good for other styles. The piezo pickups really give punch to each note, but the magnetic lacks a clearly defined bottom.

I have played with this thing in the store and it is the smoothest, clearest bass I have ever played. I am buying one in two weeks. I CAN'T wait to get it to play with my band. The double styles of pickup's make it the best bass I have ever played. AND it is hella light too! If you are looking for a bass for playing anything from blues to rock, this is something you are gonna want to @ LEAST try out!
Live it up!
