Received this banjo on 5/5/20. Bought this for a Grand son who is 14. I didn't want to spend a fortune on his first instrument. I have a Gibson Master tone that I have had for 20 yrs. and this is just as good as the more expensive banjos out there. Do be prepaired to have some one or yourself set it up properly. We did this ourselves after watching a few utubes. The fit and finish were fantastic. Sounds as good as my own banjo but 1/3 the cost.

I have an 1958 Kay banjo and felt it was time to get a new banjo. I ordered this after doing a lot of research on it. I could not wait until I got home from work as I got a notice that it had been delivered. I unboxed a beautiful looking banjo. It does have some weight to it. I noticed the bridge was not in place for shipping. I watched a few videos on how to put the bridge in the correwct spot on the skin. It involves measuring from the inside of the top nut to the 12th fret and marking the same measurement from thye 12th fret toward the tail. I set it in place and it sounded just right. I then took it to a local music store to check it out for me. He played it like a pro up and down the neck and said I nailed it ! He then tightened the drum down for me. It is an awesome banjo ! I can't wait to get home everyday and play. Thanks zZounds!

So my ancient Vega 5 string went to friend whose banjo was stolen, and though I may play banjo pretty well, he needed it more than me. Years went by and he moved away, so I could no longer borrow it at Halloween for our annual family ghoul trek through the neighborhood (banjo is an essential photo/video element). I wanted a real banjo, but another expensive addition to the arsenal and I'd have been sleeping in a tent in my yard. I read all of the descriptions of the affordables, and chose the B200. The instrument turned out to be so good that, A) I don't miss my Vega so much anymore, and, B) it made me take banjo seriously again. This is an excellent banjo for the cost. The tone ring is as good as they come. It's also beautiful.
