Hartke VX810A Cabinet Customer Review
Sound
How would you characterize the sound of this product?Like a rolling river with a huge arse wall behind it, it dont stop for no one.
What about the sound quality? The Rolls Royce Of Bass Cabinets
How does the sound respond to your playing? It's there and it's solid as a rock.
Is the sound expressive? Does the product help you achieve the sound you are looking to get?The facts are there that the player who has the most toys WIN!But you still gotta know how to play to achieve this
Do you have any tips to make this product sound better? I dont I think it is fine but i am the drummer The bass player sez the grill needs to be more firm as it rattles at high decimals, which you can only hear on recordings with an exceptional good ear. I can hear it but its no big deal with me but he is perfeccionists type player.

Read above reviews. The company, in my opinion is shady. I got a form letter email from them dening any problems, and rectulanty they admited that their products are now made in China since 2004 when Samson Tech. took over Hartke. Do not trust or buy from this company.
Sound
I bought two of these cabinets. I had to. The first one was damageg in shipping, or so I thought. It was just a cheap, overseas made cabinet. The internal bracing had all broken loose. Sounded horrible when I attempted to play it. So, I exchanged it for another one. Showed up with the same problem, internal bracing broken. I took pictures and sent them to Hartke. Thats when I found out they stoped making Hartke products in the USA. They are now all made in China. Cheaply made. Samson Tecnoldgies bought out Hartly and now will ruin the brand. Also, they state cabinet is made with 3/4 inch plywood. Not true. It's 1/2 inch thick. I measured the sides and rear panel as well as the broken braces. Maybe if they did not "cheapen up" the bottom in order to make more money, we could rely on quality from Hartke. I will never buy another Hartke piece of junk again. Two weeks of frustration and grief from their customer lack of support dept.
Features
Could not test the limited features. It rattled when I attempted to use the bottom. It has a horn, but no volume control. It only has one input jack and the cheapest pair of casters I have ever seen on a speaker cabinet. Do not waste you time on this poor quality cabinet. Save your money and buy an Ampeg. That's exactly what I did.
Quality
This cabit would not last ond week on the road. It is advertised as being built with 3/4 inch plywood. It is not. I measured it at the side panel and rear panel as well as the broken front brace. All 1/2 inch cheap plywood. Not only does Hartke build cheap cabinets, they aparently mislead you as well. The internal brace that broke, did not even have the nails holding it on. The nails missed the board completly.DO NOT BUY THIS BOTTOM!!
Value
Acomplete waste of time, effort, money and a misleading company. I was told this product was made in the USA. I found out it's made in China. Now I know why this bottom is so cheap.....it's so cheap.
Manufacturer Support
Customer care was a joke. You have to leave your call back number. There is not a live person available and now I can see why. Would you like to have answer angry customers questions on the poor quality products Hartke now offers. I have returned both bottoms and recevied credit and purchased an Ampeg bottom. It costs more, but it's made in the USA and is a quality product.
The Wow Factor
It is a very attractive 8-10 bottom. I wish I could report a more positive product.

"Ripping Ampeg a new one."
i hate the fact that it's not American. That's all I have to say about that.
Sound
I bought this cabinet almost a full year ago, and it's still standing strong. I couldn't afford the god of bass we call Ampeg, although I now own an Ampeg SVT3 Pro Head. For a year I played as the bassist for a metalcore band, including a full month of touring the East Coast. I have never once had a single problem with this cabinet, this includes the time some jackass from a venue in New York dropped it down a flight of stairs and onto the gravel road below.
I refuse to purchase the Ampeg 810 until the warranty, and parts go bad on this one, if that ever happens. It's sound is completely phenomonal, unmatched by cabinets of similar price. The only thing left to be desired is the rattling grill, wich can be fixed by placing your own cloth cover over the speakers, or further tightening the grill. Simple.
Features
The casters have yet to fail me, and you don't want to know what i've dragged it through. The side handles are very practical, and useful. The carpet shell isn't beautiful, but it's tough.
Ease of Use
it's an 810. you're paying for alot of weight, alot of power. alot of very good, warm, rich power.
Quality
They probably should have kept individual soldiers in these during D-Day.
Value
best price for your money, no kidding.
Gives Ampeg a good run.
The Wow Factor
it's a beautiful peace. If the shell was just a tough black, other than the carpet, it would be PERFECT.
