Feature:
10 band eq, tube and solid state preamps, effects loop, XLR direct out, compression. I just wish it had the crossover liked the HA5000 and the HA7000.

Quality:
I've had this head for about 4 years and I use it almost everyday. The only thing ive ever done is replace the fuse.

Value:
Best bass head on the market for the money.

Desirability:
Once you hear this head you will want it so bad you will go out and buy it as soon as you have the cash.

Sound:
The tube and solid state preamps give you the perfect mix for awesome tone and great punch. The 10 band graphic eq furthers this perfection of your sound so you sound exactly the way you want.

Support:
called hartke to find out what kind of tube is used in the preamp and they told me all the specs on the tubes they use and what tubes i can exchange it with.

Overall:
There is nothing this head can't do. There is no tone that you cant accuire with this head. Its perfect.

Feature:
pretty good features. the equalizer really helps the sound out a lot. and i love how you can choose solid state or tube.

Quality:
pretty sturdy. however..i plan on getting a carrying case for it. there isnt much of a layer of protection.

Value:
this is a must get for any bassist who needs a good powerful workhorse. for the price its an amazing bass head. i would recomend this to any serious bassist who needs something to get the job done, but is on a budget.

Desirability:
ive gotten nothing but compliments on the sound and looks of this bass head..mostly the sound. people are always amazed by it.

Sound:
this has to be one of the best sounding clear bass amps i have played in my life.

Support:
never had to deal with support. yet i hear its not good. :0(

Overall:
over all. this head is great for any bassist on any level. it has a ton of power and delivers a clean crisp sound. if you are a bassist on a budget..and you need something to go from gig to gig with. then this is the amp for you..not too pricey, but just the right price. i STONGLY suggest this bass head.

Feature:
the amp comes with regular eq and an equalizer that does wonder with active basses. the analog tube preamp is just plain what i was looking for and to complement it comes a solid stae preamp that you can use separately or in combo with the tube preamp. a bit of both in any combination sound just plain great.

Quality:
the finish is alright; the sound is good, the control are just great; the chassis is sturdy and well assembled but the pots and jacks are the worse part of the whole unit. a poor quality pot destroy your sound in no time flat when it start to be loose and flutter when vibrating; the jacks are alright until you jerk the cable once to many time; the jack threaded neck in molded in plastic over the metal sleeve and the nuts are ripped of very easily. BEWTTER QUALITY POTS AND ALL METAL JACKS ARE A MUST FOR AN IMPROVEMENT. I HAVE DONE THIS A WHILE BACK AND HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS. TOTAL COST: $39.58 FOR PARTS.

Value:
good.

Desirability:
what's about making a nameplate that stays up there? the one that comes with the unit have sticky back and when the glue dries out, the nameplate falls of and get lost or stepped on.

Sound:
better than marshall, peavey and many others i have own and played for years since 1967. i just got rid of my 1100 watts peavey rig because of weight, size and my back!!! the sound was not to bad but does not justify the size of the rig. come on over to hartke.

Support:
THANKS TO GOOGLE I FOUND THE DISTRIBUTOR " SAMSON " AND COULD NOT GET ORIGINAL ALUMINUM REPLACEMENT SPEAKERS.

Overall:
as long as it take until my taste for sound change which i doubt or until the thing blow up and then again, i'll fix just like i've fixed everything else.

I just played this amp for the first time this past week-end. And, in my opionion, it's the best I've ever played thru. And, I've played thru them all, from G.K., to SWR, to Ampeg, to Peavey, and Fender. It's just so fast how you can 'dial in' a sound that is your sound. If you want an 'all purpose' amp, rack-mountable, and with power to spare, this is 'the one'. The only draw-back is, that the 3500 isn't bi-ampable. So, in the future, I might be going to the 5000 series. But, other then that, this amp is a keeper. You won't be disapointed in this amp, I highly recomend this one.

This is one great amp! I bought it used from a friend of mine who played it direct out in a church group. It had a nice crisp sound. I play it currently through a Peavy 410TX cab. It's not quite as punchy as it was playing through the PA of the church, but had TREMENDOUS low end. I play rock, so this is a good thing. I was thinking about adding a 15 or an 18 to the rig, but I'm scared to do so! This thing is LOUD! I can get tones from latin/reggae style thump, to bassy rock, to twang for punk. I looked at a similar powered rig (SWR working man) that was the same power with a 4x10 SWR cab..no comparison...and the SWR rig was 1300 bucks! Just get one!

This is by far the best purchase I have ever made, as far as gear goes. The Hartke head allows you to get exactly the tone you are looking for, due to the abundance of usable features. It has more than enough power to play about any venue, and plenty of headroom. It is articulate, precise, and powerfull. I love mine, and don't plan on looking for anything else-- just don't think I could go without the power and tone.

These sound as good as or better than amps costing twice as much. Tons of headroom (mine has never been turned up past 3 in a LOUD 5-piece band), excellent punch, powerful EQ, nearly indestructible (and I've had mine for about 4 years). Tube section isn't very
"tubey" but does have a distinct and pleasant sound. Use this in a band just once and you'll love it.

BUILT VERY STRONG. GREAT AMP FOR ALL BASSIST PLAYING ANY STYLE OF ROCK. 10 BAND EQ WORKS WELL FOR DIALING IN YOUR TONE AND PRESENCE, TUBE AND SOLID STATE PRE-AMP KNOBS GIVE YOU THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS (SOUNDS GREAT WHEN BLENDED TOGETHER),COMPRESSOR COULD BE BETTER BUT WORKS GOOD FOR EVENING OUT THE VOLUME OVERALL, JUST GET A COUPLE OF GOOD SPEAKER CABINETS AND YOU'LL BE A HAPPY CAMPER...JUST LIKE ME.

My only complaint with the Hartke is the use of plasticjack threads. the housing around the input and output jacks is made of plastic and the plastic is easily strippednad then the retaining nut is lost.

On the other hand, I absolutely love this amp!Rated at 350W RMS@ 4 Ohms and 280 @ 8 Ohms, it has power to spare.

The blending of tube and solid state preamplification gives an endless choice of combining the warmth of tube and the power and bite of solidstate. The individual bass and treble cut dials give further customizability or the exact sound you want. The switchable EQ can give you a still greater range of sonic possibilities.

Give your sound that little added punch or extra bite with the built in compressor/limiter, and it supports both active and passive pickup systems,.

The features and playability make this amp an exceptional bargain even when compared to units costing twice as much.

If you are looking for a stereo amp Hartke makes one in this same configuration in the model 5000.

I bought this unit used and it was already very well used. but I have had no problems with it. I play three of four nights a week and cannot love this amp anymore. When it finally does die, I'm getting another one.
