1 out of 10Overall:
Since the beginning of time, all CD players are supposed to conform to the "Red Book" which sets standards on how your CD player functions. In this case, both players in our unit failed to play commercial CD's with a high track rate (50 tracks or more)
Both also failed to play ANY CDR's correctly that we put in, even though my $25 dollar, bottom of the line Oritron can play anything.
Gemini used to be a good brand. Now they moved to China---Duke&Banner, KBBF Radio.

6 out of 10Quality:
its cheap ist 200 bux...its not falling apart but some parts are made very cheap...i mean if your carfule with it...its not ganna break...alltho i dont like the need to really push the bottons all the way...but then it could be just cuz its new...so dont take my werd on that.
Value:
its a good buy to build your first training set to get the basics down.
Desirability:
honestly i like how it looks cuz its so simple and basic that it gives it a non profecinal but experianced look....it has a modern look...
Sound:
i mean yea its cheap, but its a great unit to start with...i dont recomend this to anyone who has atlest dj'd for a year...this unit is prity much to jus get down and figure out the basics of Dj'n, very good price for a unit if you want to train your self to get the beats alined with out using the BPM on most other models that tell you it on the display.
Ease of Use:
sound quality is great for this unit....jus get a good 2-4 channal mixxer, and speakers everything else is kinda da same.
Overall:
this product, its ganna work its you dont abuse it...if your going to preform...i wouldnt use this one...this is more for the basic root learning or practice...or even to keep a back up set or a party set for your house...cheap and get the job done..

1 out of 10Feature:
Good features, it will stop at the end of each track, good time display, shows remaining time, remembers settings even after ejecting disc and inserting a new one. Like the blinking Play lights, easily shows which is paused. Good features that you'd expect. Also a bar display showing how much remains / or has been played of a song.
Quality:
Player seems solid but some thing's worry me. I lightly bumped one of the pitch faders and it fell off, now it won't even go back on the player, it should easily snap in or something, but there's no way, it won't go back on. Rotary Wheels seem kind of loose, not solid. And the thing that gets me the most is that they don't use flathead screws on the tops and bottoms of each unit, it will NOT fit into a 4 space rack due to the screws sticking out from the top and bottom. It's useless when trying to save space in a rack, if you have a 6U rack for example, you'll only have 5 usable spaces, what a stupid design. Still wondering why I can hear mechanical noise through the output of this thing, makes the player seem really cheap and worries me that it will just give out sometime. I want to replace this as fast as I can. Seemed to work well once outdoors in slighty cold weather, lots of condensation, that I am happy for.
Value:
Yeah, I know why it's so cheap. You get what you pay for.
Desirability:
Nothing special about this. I don't want it.
Sound:
Very noisy player, you can hear sounds of the PA when the laser is moving inside of it. Loud pops when the player stops at the end of a track.
Ease of Use:
Large buttons, large display. Buttons sometimes need to be pressed hard to actually respond. Display is easy to read, shows important information.
Support:
I e-mailed them once with a question, months ago, still no response, I assume their support is useless.
Overall:
I'm not satisfied with this now. I only have it because I paid a bit of money for it and I need something to play CD's. I want something that feels more reliable and designed properly.

9 out of 10Feature:
Basic stuff
Quality:
Very poor display, only works well if you look at it directly down. On the unit i had, one of the decks would read 1 out of every 4 CD-R's, the unit was sent back.
Sound:
Sounds good if it could read cd-r's
Ease of Use:
Easy to use
Support:
Didn't use it.
Overall:
The reviews did not justify this unit, maybe it was a lemon, not sure.

2 out of 10Feature:
Features are decent for the price when they want to work this goes for both new units I have.
Quality:
A real nightmare for any pro DJ. DO NOT TRUST IT!!! It is way to unreliable for any pro application. Both units are skipping ahead of songs new out of a store. Each player has been cleaned. Gemini just says it works to specs but still cannot play 8-10 second tracks on discs! Oh also the screen seems to be flashing now with an lcd issue while skipping during songs. A $10 walkman from any store would do better than this piece of junk!
Value:
No value they don't work well or at least when it wants to for 2 units!
Sound:
This unit has a hard time reading CD-R discs and in some cases won't work at all. All my CD's are clean and the two units are new with less than 4 months wear. All other gemini products held uo better than this. It looks like it had design flaws from the start. Stay away from this lemon and buy another unit!!!
Ease of Use:
Easy operation when it wants to start of course!
Support:
Gemini denied the issue and would not help out with a suitable replacement after years of loyal suppourt and thousands of dollars. Very sad indeed. The unit was sent in for repair.

9 out of 10Feature:
Awesome for the price.
Quality:
For $200 it's great.
Value:
Better than anything else at this price point.
Sound:
Great sound when playing; makes noise on cue up.
Ease of Use:
Easy.
Support:
Gemini has been excellent most of the time, however I think they have a few unmotivated employees in their shipping dept.
Overall:
I have a CDX-02 as well. The CD-200 will read CDs that the CDX-02 will not. The CDX-02 performs better: faster cue times and starts; better hardware, etc. but the CD-200 will play just about any CD you put in it.
