It is definitely hard to go wrong here. This is the quintessential rhythm guitar, and it is entirely capable when it comes to fingerstyle as well, although that is not its design.
If you want a Martin dreadnaught sound, well, buy a Guild D-55 (hehe), but if you want a huge, deep, beautiful, bright, bring tears to your eyes, soil to your pants, and pain to your wallet sound, here is the way to go.
The only problem is that it costs about $3000, but (overpriced) quality is never cheap. You need to play a while and get pretty good before you deserve one of these. I'm still waiting.
A word of caution to someone who does buy one, give it time to open up! When these guitars first come out of the factory, they sound tight, kind of quiet, not so great. This is a GOOD THING. Trust me, they will very quickly improve. A few hours of playing will do wonders. A few years of existence AND playing will make them sound like they were built by God. This is SO my dream guitar (in vintage sunburst finish, though, please).
