This is a great guitar. It's the third SG I've owned and I would rank it overall below my custom and above my standard.
Sound
Great tones, bright, clean and still able to get plenty of fuzz.
Features
Love the volute (not as prminent as the one on my '73 LP custom) and large headstock. Small block inlays are nice too. Wish it had neck binding, but it is a Special. Also, the finish is nice but would have preferred glossy. I got the vintage sunburst model.
Ease of Use
Gets lots of sustain.
Quality
Excellent Gibson quality - will last forever if taken care of.
Value
This is a great value at $849. I think it's value will hold or increase due to the uniqueness of this model.
Manufacturer Support
Excellent support. Mine came without the truss rod tool and Gibson sent me one immediately.
The Wow Factor
Great looking guitar.

First of all I got to say this thing looks amazing, perfect paint job, perfect neck and fret work, the pickups incredible this on a line 6 can't imagine what it'll sound like through a tube amp. The neck pick up was smooth and sounded very close to full humbucker while the bridge pickup gave me searing leads. It may be excitement being my first Gibson but this guitar is amazing at this price point.
Quality
The paint was well done, the guitar keeps in tune very well, and the fret and neck work was perfect.

Musical Style:

Rock, Heavy Metal, a little bit of Blues

I purchased this SG from zZounds a couple weeks ago, and it came to me with three of the pickup screws already stripped. I could hear something loose in the bridge pickup cavity (turned out to be a nut on the pickup screw)...after re-tightening, I found that because of the screws were so stripped, I could not screw the pickup back in far enough for the strings to pass over the pickup. Until I get a replacement, this guitar is currently unplayable.

Musical Background:

I've played guitar for 12 years - acoustic, electric, folk, hard rock, funk...

Musical Style:

As mentioned: acoustic folk, hard rock, funk, and also some blues and punk.
