Fantastic guitar for the price. This is what i call a mid-range price point guitar from Gibson. I really wanted to get the standard, but settled for the Classic Plus. For the most part the Standard has some additional electronic options (splitting, phase reverse, etc...) none of which i use so i couldnt justify paying for it. Plus it complicates thing if you want to swap out pickup down the road. I have owned the guitar for about 2wks now, and i really love it. The 60's neck profile is perfect, and the vintage burst looks sharp. I also like that they didnt paint the back of the guitar, so you can see the natural wood thru the stain. This is my first LP and overall id say im very happy with my purchase.

I used to say that about the 1997 Les Paul Classic I had about 15 years ago. This one is every bit as good, but the AA maple top gives this one the edge. The top on this guitar is gorgeous, and the finish is flawless. The 1960's slim taper neck is by far the smoothest, fastest feeling neck Gibson has ever produced. The 496R and 500T pickups pump out all the tone I could want. I have a Fender with DiMarzio Air Classic and Super Distortion Humbuckers, and a couple of Jacksons with Seymour Duncan Jazz and Distortion humbuckers. With the amp and effercts setting exactly the same, this guitar blows all of them away in terms of tone. I'll definitely be getting rid of all of my other guitars and buying another Les Paul Classic Plus!!!!!

Well worth the money I picked it up today at my local shop after trying it out yesterday. Couldn't be more pleased with the quality. The guitar is very versatile when it comes to music styles. I have the heritage cherry sunburst and i actually lucked out and got one that had softer amount of red hue in it. Overall its a great guitar and well worth the money. If you are looking to buy a standard I would look at this one as well because its just as good.
